The Sunday Times on 31 August 2008 headlined that "Psychiatrists here are seeing more sex-addiction cases, mostly men. Stress can be a trigger for such urges"

Few provocative things mentioned in the newspaper:

(1) One factor contributing to the increase in the number of people being identified with sex addiction was the availability of chatlines and pornography over the internet. Hmm....Wonder how many of us are not guilty of that.

(2)A certain Dr Adrian Wang mentioned about a young man being addicted to commercial sex instead of having more sex with his girlfriend. Hmm.......I find this interesting because it seems that the doctor is endorsing premarital sex over commercial sex for the man to seek gratification. Also saw many brothers here posting their woes on their wives being "dead fish" and preferring to outsource their sexual needs to FLs and WLs. Seemed to strike a chord here.

(3) Also mentioned that it is less socially acceptable to be labelled as a sex addict here and thus preventing people from seeking help.

I think this article will still not affect the vibrancy of the commercial sex scene here and elsewhere.
