Hi bros,

Anyone knows how long does the vaccination protect us? How many years?

Thanks in advance.

There's no exact length as me|zuo;2027721 had mentioned. It shld last the avg. pax 4 a lifetime. If nt, it shld @ least 2 last U more than 10yrs b4 the anti-bodies starts declining.

Hwevr, result may differs btw diff. individual(s), such as ovr 40 yrs old, having immo-impaired disease(s), e.g. HIV. I wld personally advise U 2 do a chk-up 2 c if a booster is req. if,
i) >10 yrs after yr vaccination
ii) if U R ovr 40 yrs old & >5 yrs after vaccination
After U gt yr results, consult the doctor when shld U chk up again. E.g. 3 yrs, 5 yrs or ... (2 be advice by yr doctor)

Hope its helpful.

Re: Hep B Vaccination

Me personally found out tt I hv Hep B during Uni days..e doc suspected it 2 b e ear hole which I pierced at 77 street but then I have 'ate' a few WL during a 1st few yrs of chioing so not sre..

Anyway, my GP has vacinnated my whole family n it lasts a min 5 yrs. aft tt its best 2 go back 4 a booster shot every 5yrs. My GF juz went 4 a Hep A+B shot costing $280 dollars. asked e polyclinic n it was only like $20-30 cheaper so no point gng there as it's a long queue..

hope it helps n tinking back, it might hv been a better idea not 2 b so adventurous n had raw oral..

Cheers

Re: Hep B Vaccination

Most ppl dun need a booster 4 the entire life, esp. jus after 5 yrs unless the individual suspects something.

Hwevr, 4 the peace of mind, a chk every 5 yrs w/ the GP seems a reasonable period but the GP normally will nt register any booster unless in special circumstance(s) where the individual's anti-bodies drops drastically below the safety level.

Generally no need. Hwevr, if U do feel anything amiss, U shldn't hold bk in going 4 a chk.
Otherwise, i) a chk after 10 yrs or ii) jus after U hit 40 yrs old & vaccination is taken more than 5 yrs ago. There's usually no need 4 a booster but individual case may differ.

Talking Re: Hep B Vaccination

Jackylee,

Ms. Lee, if you developed immunity after vaccination immunity for life! Also, it's not feasible to have another rounds of Hep B vaccination because you already have antibodies.
