A 63 year old retiree is currently on trial for allegations of sexually assaulting a 12 year old boy at a Tampines park toilet. Chua Hock Leong, who is married with a daughter, is accused of performing oral sex on the Secondary 1 student in January last year. He is contesting the charge.

It was reported that the boy had run away from home on 26 January last year, ad spent the night at Changi Airport. He stayed with his mother, stepfather and younger brother. The next day, he went to Tampines to meet his best friend, where he got a change of clothes, then followed his friend to school and waited outside for him to be dismissed. While waiting for his friend at a staircase of a HDB block opposite the school, Chua befriended him and got him to agree to walk with him to Tampines Eco Green park. The boy stated that he was relieving himself at the toilet when Chua barged in and performed oral sex on the boy.

The boy pushed Chua away and ran off, taking a taxi to his biological father's home. That evening, the boy went to KK Women's and Children's Hospital on his own as he felt unwell. A police report was subsequently lodged by the boy's family, and Chua was arrested on 31 January. If convicted of sexual assault by penetration, Chua could be jailed for between eight and 20 years. He cannot be caned as he is above 50 years of age.
