【星島日報報道】國泰港龍KA-8348客機本月一日(上周四)原定由香港飛往日本石川縣的小松機場，客機飛行近一小時至台灣上空時， 機長 始發現竟忘記帶小松機場的航圖(flight map)，基於安全考慮折返香港，機師取回航圖後再出發往日本，航程延誤近四小時。

國泰港龍發言人證實，當班於六月一日上午9時25分由香港出發前往日本小松市的KA8348包 機航班，因並 未配備相關機場的航圖而折返香港國際機場。航機安全降落香港機場後於同日下午繼續行程，並於當 地時間下午6 時38分抵達目的地。該航班載有155名乘客。國泰就事件為乘客帶來不便致歉。

國泰港龍航空正展開內部調查，以確保類似事件不再發生，亦已就事件通報民航處，並配合作出跟進 。

民航處回應指，六月一日上午11時16分，一班原定由香港前往日本小松機場的國泰港龍包機通知 空管人員，因 為沒有目的地機場的航圖，所以要求折返香港國際機場。空管指揮塔人員按既定程序，安排該航班於 當日12時4 6分安全降落香港國際機場，正就該事件與有關航空公司跟進。

The Kentucky Dragon KA-8348 is scheduled to fly from Hong Kong to Komatsu Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. When the plane flew for nearly an hour to over Taiwan, the captain began to forget that the KA-8348 Flight map of Komatsu Airport, based on security considerations to return to Hong Kong, the pilots to retrieve the map and then to Japan, the flight delay of nearly four hours.

Cathay Pacific Dragon Airways is conducting an internal investigation to ensure that similar incidents are no longer occurring and have been communicated to the Civil Aviation Department on the incident and have followed suit.
