Thumbs up S'pore Lose to Botswana in Netball!!! Sinkies are the worse athletes in the world!

Netball: Botswana trounce Singapore in Nations Cup
This is Singapore's third loss in four games at the tournament.

SINGAPORE: The toll of playing their fifth major tournament in 15 months may have caught up with Singapore's netball team. The Asian and Southeast Asian champions suffered their third loss in four games at the Nations Cup on Wednesday (Dec 16) evening, losing 38-46 to Botswana.

Despite meeting and beating 19th-ranked Botswana at last year's tournament, Singapore fell behind early on in the first quarter. By half-time, Singapore was trailing by five goals. The gap grew to 12 at the end of the third quarter. Star shooter, Charmaine Soh, sank only 17 shots out of her 25 attempts.

The team had earlier bounced back from losses to Northern Ireland and Papua New Guinea with a 71-20 win over Chinese Taipei on Tuesday.

Singapore can exact revenge on Botswana when both teams meet again on Saturday afternoon for the third-fourth place battle. There is a rest day on Thursday, with Singapore playing a Singapore Invitational side on Friday night.

"I think they have done well," said head coach Ruth Aitken. "I think it does show that it's the end of a long year. But we've got to pick ourselves up to finish strongly, so every team now is preparing better, and we just have to keep up with them."
