Thumbs up PAP peeing in their pants...

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

PAP lost their confidence after the losing Aljunied GRC. PAP do not want to be seen giving up on the GRC so they had been placing their lower tier grassroots leaders in that areas to make their presence felt with little effort. These are the ones that are lower quality than Sitoh Yih Pin.

The PAP candidate, Ong Ye Kung, is now redeployed to Sembawang GRC to prepare him for the next election. This is the problem with GRC system, even if someone who had been proven to be "rejected" by the citizen, the politicians can still forced their way through by putting the candidate in another area.

Instead proving that they are determined to serve the people, they become quitters and just jump ship to another GRC that is easier to get into politics.

Quote:
Defeated People's Action Party candidate Ong Ye Kung, 44, looks poised for a comeback in the next general election in a new GRC.

National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan invited him to help out in Sembawang GRC a few weeks ago, Mr Ong told reporters yesterday at the first grassroots event he attended there.

Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Manpower Hawazi Daipi said Mr Ong will join in at his Marsiling Meet-the-People Sessions soon.

Mr Ong was a high-flying civil servant who quit to join the National Trades Union Congress in 2008, ahead of the last general election in 2011. He was touted as a potential office-holder, but was in the PAP team that lost in Aljunied GRC.
