PRC SCAMMERS JAILED FOR CHEATING ELDERLY VICTIMS OF OVER $440,000 OF LIFE SAVINGS .node-article .field-name-ad-box-in-article {float: left;margin: 15px 15px 10px 0;}.node-article .field-tags{clear: both;} Post date: 20 Jun 2014 - 11:16pm Two PRC nationals were jailed yesterday for their part in an elaborate scam that cheated elderly victims of over $440,000 in life savings. Li Lianying, 50, and Li Peng, 45, were part of a 5 member group which came to Singapore solely to scam elderly Singaporeans of their life savings. The victims, Goh Kah Keow, a 72 year old cleaner and Chua Peck Har, 66, lost their life savings to the scammers which they had kept as cash and jewellery. In both cases, the elderly victims were fooled into thinking that they were helping a woman in distress, only to be cheated. Mdm Goh was approached at a bus stop when she was travelling alone. Li Lianying approached her in tears claiming that her daughter was in a hospital in Taiwan with an incurable disease. => Remember who apologized and got 60% of the votes? If SGs are in trouble, can they expect help from fellow SGs? Somehow the FAP Traitors have successfully ingrained in SGs that helping and donating to FTrash is a very proud thing to do! Li Lianying sought Mdm Goh's help to locate a particular medium. The two then went off to try and find the medium and approached another accomplice, Li Cai Hong, 45, who claimed that he knew the medium. Mdm Goh was then lead toward a temple where another con artist was waiting claiming to be the granddaughter of the medium that they were seeking. The 'granddaughter' would then leave to find her grandfather only to return later claiming that Mdm Goh was cursed by evil spirits. In order to expel them, Mdm Goh was told she would need to return with all her valuables so that the high priest could bless them. When she returned with her valuables, they were placed in a green bag provided by the con artists and during a prayer where her eyes were closed, the bag containing her valuables, worth over $400,000, was switched. Mdm Goh was then told to return home and find them again in 3 days time and told not to open the bag until they met again or the blessing would be broken. However, when Mdm Goh returned, the conmen were nowhere to be found. When she opened the green bag, she found that her valuables were replaced by water bottles and newspapers. The scammers had earlier fooled another elderly Singaporean at people's park complex. Li Lianying was jailed 4 years and 10 months and her accomplice Li Peng was jailed 3 years and 5 months. The other 3 scammers are still at large. My fault again ah? *hee*hee* Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
