K-pop Star Hunt 3 finalist Stephanie Koh, who made headlines last month for her remarks on how she is not proud to be a Singaporean, is embroiled in a controversy again. The 21-year-old, also known as Steph Micayle, tweeted on Wednesday that she was considering taking legal action against her aunt, 33-year-old Nicole Chong, after the two were involved in a fight last Friday. According to media reports, Koh had a fight with her aunt when her family visited her grandmother during the first day of the Lunar New Year. Her aunt, who stays with Koh’s grandmother, told The New Paper that Koh punched, kicked, and even threatened to kill her. But Koh said on her Twitter account that her aunt was the one who attacked her and denied hitting Chong. She also posted a photo of a bite mark which she claimed to be from her aunt. According to The New Paper, the spat started back in December last year when the two quarreled over a bedroom in a four-room HDB flat that Koh's aunt and grandmother stay in. Koh was staying in the flat with them and three of them shared a bedroom. However, Koh wanted to take over an unused bedroom because she didn’t want to share a room with the other two. She told The New Paper that her aunt just leaves her clothes in the unused bedroom, adding that it “wasn’t used for anything else”. Chong was unhappy over her niece taking over the unused bedroom as she claimed that the bedroom belongs to her. She told The New Paper that she shared a bedroom with her grandmother to save on the electricity bill. Chong added that she didn’t want her niece to have a room of her own, adding that Koh "smokes a lot in the flat and tends to bring guys back, and too much privacy can be bad.” The two did not communicate until they met last Friday. Chong has lodged a police report against Koh for attacking her. Meanwhile, Koh said on her Twitter page that by making the family dispute public, Chong is “forcing” her to sue Chong for defamation to save her reputation. She also expressed frustration over the media’s coverage of the incident. When contacted by Yahoo Singapore, Koh declined to comment further on the issue.
