The OSC took a fresh approach to engage Singaporeans. They had no pre-set agenda, it was a fully open discussion and it elicited a very positive response.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, National Day Rally 2013
We are indeed heartened that the Prime Minister has taken an open and consultative approach towards getting feedback from citizens, for it is only through open and honest discussion, particularly from those most critical and vocal about government policies, that we are able to play our role in the development of our nation.
And we are also assured by the PM that our leaders will be plenty “thick skinned” to hear what we have to say.
As such, TOC is pleased to present our Face-2-Face forum on the National Day Rally, to discuss PM’s NDR speech, the issues and concerns that citizens might have in relation to their healthcare, housing and education needs, or any other issue in relation to his speech.
The forum will be held on 31 August 2013, Saturday, 1.30pm to 4.30pm at Blk 231 Bain Street #04-41 Bras Basah Complex.
We have invited speakers who are versed with these issues, such as Dr Paul Tambyah and Mr Leong Sze Hian, to help lead the discussion.
We have also invited the Ministers for Health, National Development and Education to join us in this conversation and hear the concerns of their citizens. We hope that they will accept our invitation.
Join us to share your views on National Day Rally 2013 by posting your questions on TOC’s facebook fanpage. Tell us what your concerns are and add your voice to the Singapore conversation.
