FOREIGN MANAGER IN RWS TREATS DISABLED S'POREAN PART-TIMER LIKE A CRIMINAL .node-article .field-name-ad-box-in-article {float: left;margin: 15px 15px 10px 0;}.node-article .field-tags{clear: both;} Post date: 7 Jul 2014 - 6:49pm Dear TRS, I want to share my story about the rude Foreign Managers at Resorts World Sentosa who treated me, a part-timer on government assistance, like a criminal. They even chased me out of the casino despite me working there! Here is my story: I am a stroke patient who was discharged from hospital in March of 2013. I came to know about TCC HR Agency at Workfair in Tampines last year when I was looking to get re-employed. Due to my health condition, I am not suitable for many jobs, but they helped me to get a contract job in Resorts World Sentosa serving drinks in the casino. Everything was fine for about 14 months until October of last year. I took leave to settle a court case about an accident that I was in prior to my stroke when I was working as a Taxi Driver. I applied for legal aid because I couldn't afford a lawyer and was granted legal aid. However, the rule with legal aid and most government assistance schemes is that you are no longer allowed to enter any casinos once you are approved for assistance. Given that I am a disabled person who can't find much work besides serving drinks in the casino, I appealed my case to NCPG and explained my situation. NCPG approved my appeal and my casino ban was lifted. I notified my agency, TCC about the arrangement. I received clearance from NCPG on June 20 and returned to work again shortly after. However, the foreign F&B manager, Winston, at Resorts World Sentosa casino saw me and immediately insisted that I go home because I don't have clearance. This happened on June 25, despite the security duty manager explaining to Winston that I was cleared to work. The foreign manager told me to end my shift halfway through and sent me home insisting that he wanted to get internal clearance as well. By sending me home halfway and making a big fuss out of the whole thing, Winston embarrassed me in front of all the other staff and instructed my agency TCC not to give me any more shifts despite me being a disabled person and this job being my only source of income. The foreign manager treated me like I had done something criminal like stolen money. Still to this day, I haven't heard back from them and I haven't gotten any more shifts. Most of the F&B Managers are foreigners and they don't understand the Singapore laws and government rules such as the casino ban on individuals who receive assistance. I'm afraid that anyone else who may receive assistance such as through ComCare may face the same fate as me. End up, I'm jobless again because the foreign managers don't understand the simple concept. I hope RWS would choose better quality persons to promote them as manager. Not foreigners who know nuts.
