The new place that our pilot bro F35JSF recommended in inside Myanmar...... but I think should be easier to access from the Thai border side as you only need to clear one security checkpoint from there whereas coming from Nyapidaw you will pass about 4 security checkpoints / army posts. Also the final stretch of the road is rough and bumpy going into the "villages".

Do not know why this thread has turned into one on the Myanmar/China border.

Sad to note from reports that the wonderful street in Pu Chai is now non-existent. Visited that place mid last year and had a wonderful time, cheap food and cheap Viet girls, at 100 (ST) & 300 (LT) RMB. Hotels were also cheap at 200RMB for a large and clean room.

The girls are of good above average qualities except that they are runners. Probably just book ST and enjoy.

Can any brothers confirm that the place is really gone?

The border is Mongla. Casino town. From Mae Sai cross the border. Remember to take 8 passport foto. The Burmese side will issue you with a pass but will retain your passport. From Tajilek rent a car. The mid point is Kentung. Spend a nite there before heading to the Chinese / Burmese border. At this place. It is like a mini china town. U can use a Chinese SIM card for mobile calls. PM me if you need more info n picture.

Do you station around there? I was there 2 weeks ago and went in from the china border..

The casino is about 17km from the town and hotel zone.... my friend were exploring opening up hotel in that place. It's was an eye opener for me.

Eye opener for me... All the sign boards are in Chinese . The shops are opened by the Chinese . U can even use your chinese SIM card . When I was there I saw a few people groups like the WA people. They have private armies. If you open a hotel there sure make money.

Sounds like a cowboy town. Your stakes are high and therefore returns have to be high to entice you to gamble BIG...

Of course they are Chinese...... these are the descendants of the KMT army regiments and their families that fled China when Mao Tse Tung overthrew Chiang Kai Shek. If you look closely at their culture and living arrangements you will notice that they are orderly and disciplined unlike the PRCs in mainland China. I guess the military influence is entrenched in these people.
