First : They Will NOT check all they want IN the Open Waiting Area ...

Second : You CANNOT follow them into the office and NOT "You do not have to follow them into their offices".

Third : You can Call the police BUT they are also not allow into the immigration department as they are undfer different department. They will refer to the police inside the immigration.

I am just trying to let you the hard and actual fact and hope what you are written does not mislead any bros who try to take the unnecessary actions and jeopardise the chance of their love ones coming in ...

Thai or Vietnam or Lao or Cambodia ... Its the same ...

Sponsorship are case by case basis .... and it will be told by ICA ... In general, there is no requirement of it.

Those require VISA just need to apply VISA at their country prior coming into Singapore ..

Yes , its a deposit ... YEs, u can get it back .. unless the person u sponsor commits an offence or do illegal stuff, overstay and get caught and repatriate back ...

In general NO deposit is required unless ICA ask for it.

There is NO need to Sponsor them during their initial entry. Sponsor only comes in if they are extending their stay after the visa period. For extending, u will need to go down to ICA for interview with the applcants .. ALso In general. NO $$$$ is needed for such extension.

What u can do :

Stand behind them, wait for them to clear immigration 1st .. if they encounter any problem, just step up and explain the relationship and tell them what are they here for and they cannot speak english.

or u can try what I do when I bring my MIL her for our ROM:

You qeue in front and go clear first at the counter instead of using the machine.

When at the counter, Explain to them the next inline is my who and who and they cannot speak english or mandarine and they are here for what purpose. Can they join u together to clear immigration.

NOrmally is Cannot as the R&R states that the clearing has to be done individually BUT then you won't know as sometimes good ICA officer they do allow the same group of related teravellers to clear together.

So once you clear the counter, just wait for them behind the counter to wait for them and offer any assistance that maybe required.

Importantly, the address portion in the card must indicate your address if they are staying with you. If indictae hotel as address, please show proof of booking. Lastly ... leave a small space to write your contact number.

Next .. ready and produce the return flight ticket together when handing in the passport ..

They should not have any problems coming into Sg ...

Yes, I agree that Vn passport CANNOT enter some country freely .. ESPECIALLY to country who require a VISA .. eg like US or Australia ...

As for SIngapore .. No problem UNLESS your friend is banned or blacklisted.
Therfore your friend DOES NOT requires you to help her apply VISA in advance or volunteer for $$$ to sponsor her. Likewise she also NO need to apply VISA first at their country to come Singapore.

LIke Bro HH88 said due to the ASEAN pact, there is NO Requirement of VISA. BUT then that does not equate to free entry into the country as the officer have the rights to stop u from entering.

U DO NOT need to do anything for her, UNLESS you are afraid that she cannot comes in and you Voluntarily go ICA and Applies a Entry VISA for her to comes in ... then in this case, ICA will advise you if $$$$ is required to sponsor her to comes in.

Next :

You will NEED to sponsor her stay IF she is extending her current stay for the next 30 days ... once extension approved on-line, your friend will need to go down to ICA for interview together with a sponsor which is you. Whether $$ is need, they will advise you. IN normal circumstances, there is NO $$$ to be deposited as a sponsor for such cash.


Important pointers: Indicate a favorable Address and Indicate your handphone number in the Address box.

Other than that the procedure for your friend is buy a ticket, get on the flight and fly to Singapore ... you just wait for her at the arrivak hall and receive her.

Whether or not she is a houswife .. as long as she is married her to a SC AND is NOT Banned or Blacklisted or committed any Bad things ... She CAN Extend her pass for all she want as long as her husband is found to be in good order by ICA.

However please also note on the type of pass:

1. IF she did not apply for LTVP or LTVP pass .. she CAN only applies for ONE (1) time extension everytime she comes into SG under the spouse category for a total of 89 day meaning when she comes in is 30 days plus extension of another 59 days. Please note that The extensionis subjected to approval.

2. IF she applies for LTVP or LTVP plus and got the pass .. she will be awarded a minimum of 6 months to 5 years stay depending the the criteria stated in the ICA R&R .... She will need to make a renewal 1 mth prior to the expiry date.

I have some question, i have a thai gf, she use to be a fl and have come sg many times, this year feb she tired to come in but was send back to bkk. then this month i went to bkk and find and we came back to sg together. there is a question in the arrival card that she need to fill in, something like have u ever been prohibited to enter sg before, she did not fill it, so she was questioned at the checkpoint but she did not understand, i was next in line behind her, when i saw her being bought away i went up and say i was her bf, the immigration officer wan me to check out and outside first but i say no i wan to stay wit my gf, so we was bought to a corner and a senior officer came and he told me i have to sign something like i am responisble for her stay in sg that she will be staying wit me and she cant break the law or wat. i sign and i ask the senior officer what if nxt time she wan to come in sg again and she is alone, he told me that she need to have prove of return ticket and some amount of cash and she can have my name ic and no so if anything happen the immigration can call and check with me. my question is is this really enough? will the immigration really call me if she have problem coming in? and i forgot to ask the officer nxt time she come does she indicate yes or no in the question about her being prohibited to enter sg before. i really hope someone can have some ans to my question, thanks
