disagree with your observation...Vn wages only SGD 100 - 200 per month. The amount of money spent by Sinkie men in KTV is humongous amount...so to these VB working in KTV, how can they not try to find any foreigner men to bring them out of their poverty...
Sinkie men are VB number 1 choice now for them...mostly will pamper wife...
My advice to sinkie men....go Vn to choose a non WL or decent ger...dun choose these WL working in sinkie...
Not that Singapore man are that rich, but they bust their credit cards and cashline in order to party. So after 1 to 2 years of partying, they are weigh down by lots of debts. Every month, they also spend most of their salary on partying. But to the VB, they do not know SIngapore man borrow from bank. So after seeing Singapore man spending so much on partying, they will have the impression that Singapore man are rich. After marrying, they realised that all these are untrue. Its all debts. Unless the Singapore man has a property that they have sold during the recent few years and earned some profits, or else, its difficult to have lots of cash on hand.
All the initial misunderstandings during first few years of marriage, the getting used to and finally the communications. Its not easy to go thru this process. Most will divorce before they can reach the communication stage. It takes both hands to clap, we cannot shift all the blame to the VB.
She is sensitive too, which could make me dau dau dau.
But lucky this is in a good way.
Usually will ask her "bx oiii, an com chua?" However, after quarrel, will just ask her "an com chua?" then she will ask me I angry? Why no say bx oiii. She will then say try to placate me, say sorry and ask me don buc boi.

Like to ask if anyone has been thru the process of bringing the stepson of your Vietnamese wife to Singapore to study. I got a stepson who is 6 years old and I want him to live and study here. Problem is my wife is not a PR yet and is only on a long term social pass. I browse thru the website and get a bit confused. Will I have to adopt him thru MCYS or I shall get him a long term pass. Bros, please advise if you have similar experiences as mine. Thanks.

I want to salute you for your open-mindedness. Raising someone else's child is something that i can never accept and will never do. No matter how much i love that lady or how good bed skills she has, i will still look at the circumstances before marrying her.
I will think that you will need to process the paper work of adopting your stepson thru the provinsional government before bringing the translated documents to singapore. But i do not think that singapore will grant your stepson singapore citizenship unless your wife attains it first. Process paperwork in Vietnam first.

I find it seriously amusing to find singaporean man feeling good that the VB calls him Ong Xa. In actual fact, no marriage paper, why call OX and BX? basically , she's just ban gai to you. So what Bro Hurricane88 has done is right, em yeu sounds better and more practical. Open mouth call BA XA , ONG XA.. but in fact, no marriage paper to prove anything if requested. They don't call you Ong Xa for nothing, there's always price tag on it

Yur situation sounded very similar to a friend of mine. Just tat his is a step daughter same age.
Yes like TS said, have to start from vietnam first.
For singapore side, can start off by asking either ICA or MCYS. if no choice, last resort is to seek legal advice.

In Hanoi, they address "sweetheart/darling" as "cheong yeu" (male) and "vo yeu" (female).
