There's always a solution for cost management if they know how to take care of hosiery properly; beginning with proper foot care - ie no rough edges, etc. Multipacks will counter the solution - and wear and tear is just like any garment; after it reaches a certain level of use, it'll give way; just like shoes too.

It's true; most hosiery retailers sell hosiery with 20 deniers in local stores, but like what you mentioned, their air-conditioned working environment isn't an excuse not to hose up; furthermore, hosiery can keep their legs warm on top of beautifying them.

Women in China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan are really hose-conscious so hopefully more women will be like them. Hosed legs can make a difference to their overall appearance - just like how with/without makeup make a difference to their faces.

Also most ladies don't know much about hose like they do in diamonds. Mention the word denier and they will like 'huh'. In Singapore, ideal denier is 8-10. 15 a bit too thick. Most of the hose for sale is 15 and above and the lower denier cost more because they are brands like Calvin klein. There are many other brands out there.

Also not all brands are comfortable as some are free sizes if not most for sale. This is where they start to get stretched after couple of washes

It comes down to culture.

That is because they manufacture pantyhose. Those countries also have 4 seasons, so from later autumn to early spring pantyhose is a necessity.
