Hunterhi,

If you're ever around I don't mind showing you some of these places. I just have my usual joint I like to go to which is Bossy Bar in Phuket town. But Songkran I may not be here as going to girlfriend's home in Khon Kaen. Anyway, will see. Take care.

Phuket town not so happening but there are a few joints you can go to for some "Companionship." The places are more for locals but if you do go you won't feel unwelcome but language may be a bit of problem if you don't speak Thai.

Personally I prefer Phuket town as I'm a bit sick and tired of Patong. I like Phuket town as things are more civilized so to speak and I think the girls in general are prettier and you get locals out for the night as well. I'm also local and speak Thai so it's a bit easier for me.

Read up on some of the older posts and you'll have an idea. Either way, I'm sure you'll still have fun.

Re: phuket

Most of the hotel in Patong are guest friendly.

However, it is still safer to email or call them to verify first before you book the rooms.

C&N hotel is always my fav home ground whenever I am in Phuket.

Re: phuket

As a general rules cheap hotels and guesthouses in Patong are GF (broadly speaking correspond to around max 1600 peak season, max 1100 low season). More expensive hotels aiming at regular tourists, families, etc...may not be GF (which means they ask for a joiner fee). Ex. Patong Bay Garden Resort ask for 1000 for joiner fee, which is the price of a ST in Pating (sic!).
So I agree it's better to check by mail or fax if they charge a joiner fee, in particular in more expensive hotels.

Bro, you got that right. After walking around the area, it is the best available option in the area if you want to be near to Bangla Road. Save on tuk tuk fares, save on time & the rooms are cheap & clean.

Going back to HKT from 8th May 2010 till 11th May 2010. Been procrastinating over my FRs for the previous trip & have already planned another trip, this time with 2 more bros...

Must force myself to recall & write down soon. Now going to IT buy Dell Alienware M11x!!!

Ja neh!!!

Re: phuket

Precision:
If hotels are not GF, they will allow you to have a thai girl with you at no extra cost only if you stay (and register) with the same girl (and often only if you check-in with the girl). In most of the cases, booking a double will not change much if you bring different girls. Just send them an email asking if they charge a joiner fee if you bring girls to your room. It's Thailand, nobody will be shocked if you ask directly the question. Be direct and precise. ASK BEFORE YOU REGISTER!

hunterhi, thanks. But sorry I can't read or write Thai. Apparently you're more Thai than I am. Never went to school in Thailand so never learned to read and write. Can only speak. Cheers and take care.

Aussino, no worries. They are not demonstrating here in Phuket. Phuket is majority Democrat supporters so the Reds are not welcome here. You'll enjoy yourself here next week. Weather's great!

Re: phuket

songkran falls on the 13th april. the festivties are now limited to certain parts of town. the festivities ends in the evening. this has been going on for a few years, i guess it's because of the sentiments of the foreigners. still a good time can be had if you travel around on a bike with a squitter ready.
