Is her mum & her staying in Bkk or in some province? On a comfy level, perhaps $20k per month is good enough or Bkk. I could be wrong here also. Did you go thru with her the breakdown in costs as in why she needs so much? Or you just give when she asks? You can also ask those who have been living in Bkk for some time so that you will know how much is required.

First of all, to be able to support her 60K baht a month, you should be quite well-off liao.
Thai girls have plans in their life. No one wishes to be an arp num gal or even mamasan for the rest of their life. This kind of career has a poor shelf life.
Many of us wants them to get a decent job. Go learn hairdressing, make up etc, but ask yourself whether this is the kind of job they want to do?
Imagine if you yourself is holding a job with a $6K salary and suddenly ask you to downgrade to a job which only give you $800 a month, can you accept it? I believe its very hard to accept or almost impossible to accept it. Do not say that you are holding a decent job while they are doing a job in the flesh trade and thus completely different. In the eyes of the WL, all jobs are same. Only difference is the amount of money you going to earn at the end of the day.
Many have this impression that advising them to give up their present job and do something decent is changing them. In actual fact, it isn't. SC is right... thai girls are a different breed. what i know is that they will do anything for you if they really love u. if not then u will only be a means to their ends (which is $$). they will not mind sacrificing as long as their family is taken care of. but i will still be wary of the nong chai/pii chai in the "family".
