2 person ID to register I guess it's standard even before the pandemic. I guess it's the need to fill in employer details name n contact that most partner afraid.

Citizens & PRs no need. Only for work pass holders you need to furnish details of your employer & contact.

This hotel you don't directly walk in. I tried before. Chat using their hotel whatspp asking them about short transfit few hours & I was coming later in an hour. Upon reaching the hotel, the recept guy told me "no rooms" and asked me do i had any booking prior to coming. I guess what he meant was "DayUse" booking. walked away & settle my deed at nearby 81 hotel.
