Ehmm, Torres has missed very simple chances too, so he is not like Owen. Wasn't it against Benfica 1st leg that he broke free and shot badly wide 1-on-1 with the keeper?

I also think Torres gets more chances that Mickey per game so that shows we are creating more chances for him.

Btw the runner in our team did brilliantly today, scoring one and making another. Let's give Kuyt credit. He also ran the length of the field to blast the assistant, also Dutch, for the first goal, which was given.

Just signed up, also haven't installed. I watched online, good resolution, but when our player broke through the middle to round the keeper and score our second, I couldn't see clearly and thought it was Torres. Certainly that was the movement and class of Torres' finishing. Yes, it was Lucas.

Torres missed more chances than MO indeed.

He needs about 10 chances to score 1 goal..he is those hit & hope type of player & his dribbling is those tyco type hoping to get past defenders with sec sch style BUT his goal scoring powers is quite effective isnt it.

Kyut as usual, always running...getting his salary worth it, some players just afraid to get dirty ..

i still dun like Rafa ...when can we get rid of him...

So what Lucas was on the score sheet! Maybe his intention was to kick some legs but mis-kick the ball . How many times have he scored so far? Nothing but fluke! Kuyt & torres were the man!

Another player I want to salute: Pepe, who has just signed for another 6 years, and I would have him for ten more after that!

Never spilled a shot before, great handling and consistency.

Maybe we stick him in midfield and let him be the playmaker. What a user of the ball.

Just not too good saving penalties heheheh.

i think his most under-rated quality is his vision, his kicking and throwing of ball has created many counter attack... i'm pretty sure he's the Gk with most "assists" in BPL..

i like his passion for the club.. he's always the 1st player to celebrate a goal or a win...!! even gerrard said he can be the next captain...

Lucas is a fluke.
Our defenders have scored more goals than him.
Next season I tell my Big Boss to get rid of him.

Barclays to back Liverpool refinancing - report - Yahoo! News UK

Barclays will back a 300 million pounds refinancing @ Liverpool tat will lead 2 the sale of the EPL club, The Sunday Times has reported.

The newspaper said the bank is this weekend finalising a deal that will see it replace the club's current lenders, provide more funds 4 manager Rafa Benitez 2 spend on players & install British Airways chairman Martin Broughton as chairman.

It added that Barclays Capital had been hired 2 find a buyer for the club - 18 times English champions & 5-times winners of the European Cup - which is owned by American businessmen Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

The club has outstanding loans of 237 million pounds and its lenders, Royal Bank of Scotland and Wachovia, an American bank, have demanded 100 million pounds by July 2010.

The Sunday Times said Barclays, the main sponsor of the Premier League, will replace RBS & Wachovia, & provide the Merseyside club with additional capital.

It added that according to banking sources Broughton had been given the job of steering through the refinancing and, with Barclays Capital, finding a new owner.

Analysts have suggested Liverpool is worth 500 million pounds but the paper said Barclays is understood to believe it would fetch far more if given time to improve its trading.

"Broughton is the kind of international business figure who will be able to bring in the standard of bidders Liverpool should attract," one source told The Sunday Times.

Benitez was quoted in British media on Sunday as saying Liverpool needed to bring in more players to compete and may even have to sell a few to be able to reinvest.

"It doesn't matter if it's four or five or three or five, the cost of a top class player is 15 or 20 million pounds. So with three or four players, you start counting and I think we need up to four new players," he said in The People.

"I don't think I will have to sell a big player, but it will depend on the investors so I cannot guarantee we won't have to sell. Our idea is to keep the spine of the team."

Rafa Benitez: We need to spend £60m on players - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

I would rather another manager use the money on buying new players "IF" we ever have this money
