i remember a few years back i was in nanjing at this 汤山温泉, maybe pink floyd knows the place? i ended up sleeping in the hotel room and did not even go to the hot spring to dip because it was quite cold in winter haha...

汤山温泉 I know. There is a spa owned by Indo there. The same as Kayu Manis in Bali. The problem with you is not the coldness but lack of 'bed sheet' to keep you warm after you get out from the hot spring. Wher are you nowadays ?

I just want to say hello to bros whom I have not seen for a while as I hide in some god-forsaken ulu place with no internet access. Now back in civilization, browsing sbf and saw the mentioning of “Father & Son” – so, just put my 2-cents worth as it has been more than a year since I lasted visited Longmen Hot Spring that used to describe or market itself as the Asia’s largest hot spring “亚洲第一泉” – I’m not sure if that’s true because it sure didn’t feel that way to me. I was there with my “Son/ErZi” and another friend during the winter and it was great since there were not so many people and nice to soak in the hot-spring pools in the open air. They also have a massage center, but they tried to convince us to our disappointment that the girls there only offer proper massage within the room and NO special services. So, bro SBX very clever to BYO. BTW, this place is previously known as Longmen Hot Spring龙门温泉 but is now officially known as TieQuan. 铁泉大温泉 or Iron Spring. However, there is really nothing to do in the evening since it is away from everything else, so maybe bros without company should take bro SBX’s suggestion to stay in Longmen town (where 龙朝大酒店 with ktv under the same management as Tiequn is located and supposedly the only 4-star hotel in town) about 10km away.

And from Longmen, you can easily visit Nankunshan南昆山, also with many comparatively smaller hot-spring resorts that used to attract lots of local weekend crowd from Guangzhou and as far as Zhuhai because of the cheap BBSs, cheap food and lots of fun. The place was cleaned out about 4/5 years ago to make way for more family-orientated weekend stay and never quite recovered, as I found out during my last visit there about 3 years ago with ErZi. I heard it is still very tame, but maybe some adventurous bros can go check it out again. And from NKS, one can easily travel to CongHua从化 (it also has hot-spring but not so nice) and then to Guangzhou, or QingYuan清远 that is another place famous for its hot springs and only 30km from GZO’s BaiYun International Airport.

Bro prcsytlover, I am not familiar with any hot spring resort in Qingxi清溪(?). Or perhaps you meant the Qingxin Hot Spring Resort Area 清新温矿泉旅游度假区in Sankeng Town三坑about 20km southwest of QingYuan town centre? It claims to be one of the largest resorts in China and used to be the training ground for the Chinese national football teams. It sees a lot more weekend crowd from GZO and in my opinion offer more varied activities. I like the individual villas with private pools that you can spend quality time with your MM(s), or you may prefer the Japanese style open-air hot spring. The villas have 2-3 rooms, so can be conducive for some “community” style activities. I prefer to visit it during winter since there is also less crowd, mainly because QY also attract many local visitors for its heavily promoted (but short on delivery) rafting facilities during summer months. Again, the last time I visited the place was many moons ago and at that time one must BYO if you want intimate moments – otherwise, very boring. But there are many KTVs in QY town center and used to boast 3 large areas of BBSs until a massive clamped down by provincial level authority 3 years ago when an under-age MM from neighboring province was kidnapped and sold to a local BBS. The activities are a lot more tame now. And do make sure you try the famous QY-chicken清远鸡 dish when you are there – and I meant the real chicken!

If I'm going from CP,(should be taking pte transport) which is a better choice to go? In terms of distance which is closer to CP by car?

Qingyuan or Longmen? In terms of hot spring, which is better, less crowd, more comfortable.. going there to relax, so will not want to fight with locals over useage of hotspring or meals etc..

Will be going after xmas so I think maybe a bit more crowd? Will be there for only 2 days, so dun really like to spend the time on travelling.
