Anyway, how to drill this into someone's mindset that it is all just a game and the stories told by them are almost certainly bullshit? I talk until mouth dry and for hours but he is still in disbelief. Maybe I'm not convincing enough.

Most also borrowed a lot of money from their 'agents' in order to buy air-tickets to Singapore and pay for their daily expenses during their stay here. Those 1st timers also have to pay their agent a fee of $1-2k to bring them over here and show them where to stay, where to work, how to work, etc etc... Their agents are actually loan sharks and suckers who painted a nice picture of easy life and easy money in Singapore to the girls whom they bring over. So ultimately, these girls come here for 1 main objective, MONEY.
However, having pointed out the ugly side of things, there do exist exceptional cases (whom I have personally encountered). There are still a handful of girls who are actually innocent and kind at heart. They force themselves to accept the fact that they have to work in such a line to get money, but still holds a fairy tale dream that they will get to meet their prince charming somewhere out here who can rescue them out of all these shit and give them a good life in Singapore. So once they found someone who treat them well, they will stick to him like superglue and shower this lucky guy with all her tender loving care. They can be extremely sweet and faithful but at the same time very very pocessive once they lock-on to you as their Mr Right.
As for your friend, he will need to be rationale enough to differenciate fact from friction. Well, easier said than done. If he is hooked to the girl, he probably will not listen to anybody else. That's why they say "Love is Blind". Sometimes you just need to let him get burnt once, then he will learn. This is in my own opinion, the most effective way. I have met friends like that too, and some even needs to be burnt 2 or 3 times before they learn.

I ever met one group of VN (Around 30 of them) in geylang sleeping by the streets. Cheated into singapore with a Dream Job of Production operator with a monthly salary of USD800.00.
Some of them sold their house in VN, some borrowed money and they each paid about USD8000 (according to their claim) just to come to Singapore. When they arrived, the SG agent just disappeared with their money. Police report was filed, embassy was informed. Nobody could help them. Only 1 shop owner, "Tui Na", allowed them to shower and cook with what they had.
What I did was, brought them to Sheng Song near Lion City Hotel, ask them buy rice, veggie, meat, fish and send them back to their "Streets Home".

Bad ones can easily smell them from miles away. As for those agents I'm not sure if you're refering to those "mamasans" who double up as hostesses as well in Joo Chiat and Geylang pubs?
According to my encounters with Thai and Viet hostesses who come to work in Singapore. Overall majority of the Thai girls are very experienced while I'd say a good 10-20% of Viet girls are very "freshy". And those "freshy" ones always have their big sisters act as consultants.

Yeah at that time, X-Club is the newest disco around... The place is clean and beautiful. The people patronising there also same as the environment. But now heard that it is CLOSED. Where can we find another such place?
