Is WeChat nearby feature blocked for foreigners in China?

Make sure you update the app regularly.. now it's version 8.0.53

I mean you will need a friend to set up an account entirely on their name, ID and bank card for you.
Years ago, my FB set it up for me and after it's been verified, deleted the link to the bank card so there is no risk for her.

Yes, you can sign up for 2 WeChat accounts with different mobile numbers.
I have a normal account and have another 小号 account that I can switch over for security (from your partner) purposes.

I have no idea if it has changed. i visited last year for business trip, I can still use the "People Nearby" - discover features.... seen alot cats, but no guys to try. HAHAHA..
