The angpai is always "FULLY BOOKED" even when you call them early.
But miraculously a customer will cancel and suddenly he has available slot for you when you offer to give the captain a fat tip.

I dunno what is happening at HV spa. I have not visited them in the past month due to being busy busy and the CNY holidays. But I drop by today to check it out after hearing of negative feedback from people who have been there recently.

I guess they have set the bar too high and was not able to maintain the initial standard of service. WLs turnover is high here and today there were 11 CKTs & 6 Viets working. However of the 11 CKTs, all were new faces except for #30 & #77.

During the time I was there, there was a group of teenagers/youths in the movie room playing games on their mobiles and making a ruckus without consideration to the other customers trying to sleep or watch the movie. What made it worse was a captain was with them playing the game on his iPad too. Gone is the quiet ambience and the atmosphere was feeling like being in a game arcade.

Gone is the ice-cream bar and its stock of different varieties of ice-cream. Now there is only cheap sticks of potong ice-cream and only 2 flavours... red bean or durian.

The hot pool looked like it has not been cleaned or maintained as the water was not very clear. And the guy who serves drinks / towels at the sauna & pool areas is gone. It is now self service if you need a drink or towels.

Food is buffet style but variety is less now.
White Rice, Kway Teow, Meehoon, Fried mee, diced celery, fried longbeans, chilli prawns & fried fish fillet.
They also have porridge but only serve salted egg, chye poh, peanuts & Ikan bilis with it...... really pathetic. I did ask why the food quality has deteriorated and was told they cut back on them because too much food was wasted and leftover everyday.

I saw several new faces among the staff and I spoke to a new face captain. He was on his 1st day at work here in HV and was transferred from Berjaya Waterfront hotel (ZON spa). Apparently apart from the manager, supervisor & cashier, all the other staffs are rotated between the various spas owned by the same boss.

After today's visit.... I realised why many bros had given negative feedback on this place. Initially I had high regards for this spa but apparently they were not able to maintain their standards.

There are only 2 WLs remaining from the original batch and I believe they are the Ang Pais referred to here. These 2 are WL30 & WL77 and very difficult to book nowadays. They are my regular WLs there because of their tokcong services including doing AJ for me.

What I do now is I will book them earlier 1 or 2 days ahead of schedule and at the same time sms the WLs to let them know my booking. This is so that the captain do not cancel my booking to give my slot to someone else.

I am a regular at HV since their opening and I agree that their standard has gone down. Generally I try to avoid going there on weekends as I find there are many Singapore NS boys and young local ah bengs tend to visit during the weekends. These young men tend to behave like they own the place and often "act up" if they come in large groups.

During weekdays the crowd is more mature and I see mainly business people or the elderly. These folks are usually quiet and mind their own and are more considerate when sharing the facilities.

I do not have any regular favourite in this spa and I just let the captain arrange the lady for me. I know about the shortage of ladies in this spa so I am prepared to wait. I do not mind as they will "borrow" ladies from the other spas so I get to try many different girls. Sometimes on slow days I do get a chance to try the Ang Pai like #30 too.

Overall it is still a good place to relax when compared to other spas like GBW or GP.

Actually not much difference between these 2 spas unless you have your favourite regular lady.

new york the pool still ok but HV really blur leh. so which should i go next? or should i try GP? or BW?

I guess the main draw for this spa is the close proximity of KSL. But this can a disadvantage as there is risk of bumping into people u know. I prefer weekdays as theres more normal working adult. Really appreciate the space.

Have previously asked FR for 86 and 35... Anyone care to share?
