1) Curry chicken 2) Bak Kut Teh 3) Tofu Goreng 4) Bo Bo Cha Cha 5) Fired Carrot Cake First and foremost, a round a applause to the boss of this Singapore restaurant for trying to bring Singapore food into CP. His effort to make these food taste as close to home is certainly good news to Singaporeans based in CP. Though I must say that the food in the Singaporean Restaurant is good, personally I still think that the previous one located along the same stretch of road as Fei Po Roast Goose is better as they offer more variety and food taste better and fresher. This restaurant have no Lasi Lemak, Hainan Chicken Rice and Barley drink!!! Chicken Curry For someone in CP for 7 years, this is the first time I saw such huge pieces of chicken used for curry in CP. I was really surprised and asked the boss where the hell did he managed to get such huge pieces of chicken meat. Taste wise, I would prefer the curry to have more coconut milk in it and also more spicy. We were offered bread to go with the curry but sad to say, the bread taste stale. Would be good if they offer fish curry as well. Bak Kut Teh Taste is similar to what we have in Singapore. Good dish to try especially after all those heavy drinking and also on a cold weather. However, would prefer the 'medical' taste to be abit stronger. Pepper taste is good in this dish. Bo Bo Cha Cha I only tasted the coconut milk portion (thick and sweet enough) and did not try the rest of this dessert. Damn! My friend finished it up before I can try them. Tofu Goreng This item is a big disappointment. Avoid this dish at all cost! Fried Carrot Cake We ordered 2 protions of this dish. Taste really yammy. Although taste is not what we had in Singapore, but the owner seems to add something else (虾米) which made the dish taste better! Love this dish! Have yet to taste the satay, fried kway tiao and the prawn noodle which the owner recommend. Pricing of items in this restaurant is slightly on the high side. Ordered the above items plus 4 soft drinks cost 200+rmb (almost 50SGD). Last but not least, this is certainly not the best Singapore Restaurant in China. Guess you haven't been around China much. Shenzhen and Guangzhou both have really nice Singapore Restaurant. |

Will definitely go there soon and try your recommendations. BTW - a couple SBF bros took me to the Yakiniku restaurant directly across the street from the 6000 restaurant; surprisingly this place is not a Japanese restaurant, but a Korean one! (surprising to me - coz I thought for sure, with a name like that, it MUST be Japanese!! LOL). Great Korean Barbecue with the trimmings at very affordable prices. And a great ambience with quasi Japanese style seating/Great for "date nIghts!" I saw quite a few couples there! SEAJ Last edited by SEAJ; 19-01-2013 at 02:58 PM. |
