I think you need a Vietnamese dictionary. I mean, the real one, not the "walking Vietnamese dictionary". Last time I bought one in Vietnam and it only cost me 44,000. In this dictionary, you can find many words that you cannot find in Vdict or Google translation.

Best of all, you get to know the Chinese explanation.

i have been using the word "um sum" in conversation but don't know how to write. the meaning of "um sum" is loud, noisy.

usually when we speak over the phone and heard noisy background voice, the vb will ask "a o dau, tai sao um dum wa". this us how i get the meaning.

i thought "gay lon" is spelt wrongly. can it be "cay lon (cay nhua)" as in argue?

No, gây lộn is a word which also means "fight"

Another word for fighting is "cãi nhau" I think you also spelled it wrongly.

We all love this word chim Without it, we won't spend so much time in VB

cai nhau, cai lon = argue
danh nhau, danh lon = fight

I think in English, fight = 吵架, argue = 爭論, 辯論 physical fight = 打架

Therefore,

cai nhau is "fight"
danh nhau is "physical fight"

Ngo Quang Dao, director of Phuong Dong Galaxy owning some boats, added he was only informed of the new decision coded 716/2011/QD-UBND on June 8, two days before the decision took effect Friday.

The decision requires boats to install automatic systems for fire alarm and fire fighting, he added.

“It requires each boat must equip a high-pressure pump able to spray water up to 35-40 meters, but we can’t find such a pump in Vietnamese market now,” Dao said.

“Those are the reasons why we don’t register to carry passengers today,” he argued.

Dao Manh Luong, chairman of the Association of the Ha Long Bay’s Fleet of Boats, recommended that the province should discuss with boat owners to build up a roadmap to upgrade the fleet.

Local authorities have not made any public announcement or explanation concerning the case.

It has left over a hundred of domestic and foreign travelers waiting for hours in vain this morning.

I guess this is in response to the recent boat capsize when several tourists drowned. There are a few high-end operators with no problems though, eg Emeraude, etc.
