You can look for 丹诺=danok, 宋卡=songkhla or 泰南 for hatyai and danok.

Happy to see that this thread is back alive with some tips.

Last month I went to cheong base on old tips I got from WSG.

Here's my experience on this trip (1st trip) and hopefully someone will benefit from it.

Got to know that wife going to outstation this weekend. Ho seh liao! Got excited and view through WSG and SBF for tips on Danok trip. Spend 4-5 hours read through but can't finish. Too much post already Finalize place to visit are:

Around 12pm - The journey begin now Although not 1st time cheong but still quite excited. Perhaps because 1st time cheong in foreign country. Go from Penang by van.

You can walk there or ask the driver to drop you there."

After the driver drop me in front of 7-11, the 1st hotel I see is Oscar. Went over and it was fully book. Keep searching for other hotel while recalling hotel names that seniors mentioned at SBF. Then came to PJ Hotel. RM50/night and only last room available. Took it as I was lazy to search other hotel at the same time afraid it will be taken if I didn't took that time.

Paid up and given keys to check in room. Condition quite ok. Clean room, air con and even got porn channel upon request without extra charge. Unpack my thing and come down immediately for 1st destination.

Went over to ask the hotel reception where is Mutiara Spa. She told me got Mutiara Spa 1, Mutiara Spa 2 & Mutiara Spa 3. Which one am I asking? I didn't know got 3 Mutiara Spa, so I pause a second to think. Without me answering back, she guide me to all three location. Although not quite sure what she told me, I tried to find myself while asking people along the road.

My very first trip to danok after many months of waiting and planning.

Here's my report:

1st impression of the town, small but damn happening!

Managed to cover both sides of the road within half day, with spare time to go massage, makan and fishing through farms for LT (will get there later)
