2 years back, I visited a big joint HJF (but was then a relatively unknown joint when i went there then) in Chinatown and really liked the atmosphere there.

Honest, the decor was splendid and the quality of singers really high. By that i mean the looks & real singing/performance talent; in case some bros here start inferring to their "other" talents.

I was really smitten by her looks and talent, she can really sing better than a lot of the so-called singer artistes in the records market.

I really felt for her as I do sense that she likes me as well. At that time at this joint, $100-$200 flowers was like the "wow" feeling for the singers.

Of course i show my appreciation of hanging flowers then w/o really thinking abt any after transactions (still green & honest then )

However whenever I visited the joint, she will never entertain me for long even when i hang $100 flowers (big at that point time) but I am ok as I was really mesmerised by her powerful voice.

After quite a few visits, I realised that she is jealous of me hanging flowers for other singers as well. I told her since this is a HJF, no harm of me hanging other singers flowers as most jie-meis will always urge their regular supporters to help out their jie-meis in distress.

She then hinted to me to be "discreet" abt hanging flowers for other singers if i really support her. Note that i didnt even promise her i will be her long term supporter. She didnt really need my "miserly" flowers as i knew from the mgr that a lot of rich towkays are willing to splash $$$ to support her due to her powerful vocals and her svelte figure. She is easily the most prominent singer on stage. I also know many singers dun like her due to her aloofness and also the competition that she threatened.

After many visits and smses with her, I am really stunned when she sms me one day to ask if i am indeed serious abt her. I was thinking to myself "hey i wasnt even in the towkay catergory & she knows it well that i am just a working class customer, why did she ask me such a qn?? Is she trying to KC me then?

I really begin to feel troubled as i think i like really her as well. I didnt dare to commit to her overtures as i am fully aware of the rules of this game. The winner will be the customer that can hang the biggest flowers on show nite.

The nite before she did her show, she confessed to me over the phone that she likes me, despite no promises of any big financial commitment which is usually attached to the bf or supporter of the ang pai singer during show nite.

She revealed her feelings for me & I did the same too. The sour note of course is when she ask me if i can afford to be her long term bf during her stint in sg. One thing to note is she has no lack of big time customers who can and is able to be her bf. I just said i will try and she didnt reply me t/a.

fast forward === show nite. I was worried for her as no one hang for her after she performed 3 songs. My budget that nite was 2k max to support her. so b4 she begin her fourth song, i hang her a crown (1k flowers one shot!!) She thanked me profusely on stage as though as i am her saviour. Immediately after i hang, one big time customer hang her 1k/1k/2k/2k in quick sucession. Of course I pulled back as I know i have lost the battle.

It was normal for customers to “fight flowers" to determine the winner who can go supper with her after work. I lost the war as well as she did not contact me again after this show.

I really tot are HJF singers really so realistic that there is no real love....naive thinking from me at that point of time. I was really sad and depressed for a period of time, while she went on to be the queen of that HJF, easily bagging 80-100k per personal show. Heard her personal best was a staggering 180k per nite

Actually I would like to persist on as I i really felt sore that i "lost" her this way. I must thank her for terminating our "relationship" or else I will be a bankrupt by now.

Some bros are bound to condemn my foolishness for sinking in. But I think she saved me from leading a life of ruins if I were to be her bf then.
