Hi guys,

My gal wanna borrow money from her "sister" (so called cousin who actually works here) to show Sing customs when she arrives. I told her not to borrow as the "sis" is charging 25% interest, which is ridiculous ! of course, I don't want to appear rich, so I told her I will find a solution soon.

i not up to standard to translate word for word. but the whole meaning is that she don't want you to be in a difficulr situation and worry about her. its the task of her parents to worry.

or this may be a sms to make you 'tong qin' her so that you will come out the money.

in the first place, you should not offer to think of ways to help her. be it 25% or 100% charges. vn gals are street smart. they have ways to get money to come over.

to get out of this situation, you should reply simply 'OK' and discontinue from the topic.

Ha Long Bay seeks New 7 Wonders of World status

VietNamNet Bridge - The campaign to collect votes for Ha Long Bay to be recognized as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World in November this year is entering the final stages, said an official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

At a meeting to discuss the country’s efforts to reach this goal Wednesday, Head of the ministry’s International Cooperation Department Nguyen Van Tinh said that Ha Long Bay is among the 28 finalists.

The official declaration of the New 7 Wonders of the World will be made on November 11, 2011, he added.

The Head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Nguyen Van Tuan, emphasized the need to mobilize people to vote for Ha Long Bay and win the support of international friends.

The VNAT will also launch its own campaign to vote for the bay, he revealed.

Meanwhile, the department has come up with a plan to promote the image of Ha Long Bay to international tourists and friends. The plan includes a photographic contest and a painting competition on Ha Long Bay for children as well as an art performance.

The department will also organize activities to collect votes at major schools, tourist sites and through the Internet.
