woah that's a first i heard thou, think i tried to ask if they take SGD but the counter at airport doesnt want them.
but more important is to change back if you do not intend to go back to laos anymore. imho

what are some of these $30 to $40 hotels? Are they classified by the number of stars? This price should be 3 stars and above. Unlike in vietnam where usually the g friendly hotels are 3 stars and below.
I'm looking for a g friendly hotel with good location in vientiane. Going there end of next month.

You can try the Xaysomboun Boutique Hotel (3* with swimming pool) which should be in the $40+, a very good hotel with nice breakfast and conveniently located.
