what she is doing for you is out of love and concern for you, this is the best thing one can get. Frankly, since she had already visited the doctor, even at the slightest indication that she contacted TB, she would be immediately quarantined, thus I don't think it is TB but perhaps lung infection. I think she is just preparing for the worst and distant away from you for the time being till she get the clearance, for fear of transmitting anything to you. She must have a mind on her own and it is not wise to undermine her decision but to respect her wish. Just imagine if she did not revealed anything to you and at the worst case you also contract TB, you will perhaps hate her for not telling you, isn't it ? Either way she is still deemed wrong, so what is right ? Overbearing her will create friction and seemed dominating which will hurt more of your relationship, show her that you care and respect her, after she cools down, she will be more appreciative towards you. This is just my personal opinion.

Re: Tn Gal Suspect With Tb
where did she see the doctor, cause if it was a govt clinic, she would be quarantined if she reall had TB. But lucky TB is curable.

Re: Tn Gal Suspect With Tb
Like i say the doctor said her lungs are infected and could be tb. Whether is it tb anot, she need to go for the test but she did not go and so now i also dunno is it tb or not. Even if she go for test it takes 3 mths for the result to come out.

Re: Tn Gal Suspect With Tb
Tat you have to ask the nurse already. I remember she say something about leaving the flam for 3 mths to see whether it will produce dunno wat germs. So my guess is something like hiv got window period.

Re: Tn Gal Suspect With Tb
Bro Jonas,
Sorry to hear about your situation. Firstly lung infection can be due to other germ other than TB, that they called pneumonia. TB bacilli can be airborne (transmit by air) so those work or talk to them also can be infected. Even with TB they do not need to stop work but must take treatment and check up regularly. Most common TB is treatable if they complete the treatment. Cheaper treatment option can consider SATA. Btw normally TB lesions appear on top of the lungs in X-ray. Hope this will help.

Re: Tn Gal Suspect With Tb
To clarify - only if you are diagnosed with the particular strain of TB (commonly known as the super TB) then there's a chance that you may have to be quarantined. But otherwise, no quarantine is necessary. TB is treatable and you risk exposure if you're in close contact for over 8 hrs.
More information on the gahment's sites: 1. MOH 2. Health Promotion Board If the lady has been to a doctor, and the doctor felt there's no need for a chest xray, in all likelihood it's not TB. Doctors are required to report TB in any case. TB isn't just cough, but a whole bunch of other symptoms - fever, loss of weight, blood in phlegm, night sweats etc. |
