For those who have never visited Pattaya. Theres a regular bus service between BKK(Ekamai Station) to Pattaya. The 2 hour ride costs 90baht. Easy to get to the Ekamai station, its along the Sukumvit MRT line.

Also have mini van service between BKK & Pattaya for about 300bht. Taxi between BKK & Pattaya is about 800bht.

For buses to BKK(every 30 mins to Ekamai) , go to the bus station at North Pattaya Road. Not the other 2 bus stations around Central Pattaya Road. Mini buses/taxis are bookable at hotels & travel agents.

Many of the hotels have free maps showing where to eat & where to cheong. In a nutshell, the 2 main roads going North & South are Pattaya Beach Rd & Pattaya 2nd Rd. There are Sois(east to west) connecting these 2 main roads. Soi 1 starts from the north & to the south are the higher Soi numbers.

Pattaya is kind of like Haadyai, instead of Malaysians/Sporeans there are angmos from Brit/German/Aussie. Lot of beer bars instead of pubs. Lots of western rests than road side stalls.

To get around Pattaya, there are the baht buses, small trucks with seats at the back with a roof. Ring the bell when you want to stop. Within the town costs only 10baht if you look like a local & 20 baht if you look like a tourist : ). These buses are convenient & cheap because the main road going south is Pattaya Beach Road(a one way road just next to beach). To go to the north, just walk 10 mins to the east & theres Pattaya 2nd Road, a one way road with traffic going north.

Have taxis also but more convenient to take the baht buses. Bring along good walking shoes because its easier to explore downtown by foot. Its as sunny as BKK but feels cooler because of the winds.

To explore outlying areas, can rent small/ giant motor cycles & cars. Bring an International Driving license if you want to rent.

I was told by a jetstar customer service officer that the airport is about one and half hr by road away from the Pattaya town center. ..Sound ulu to me....

You can call them to reconfirm.

I am giving a piece of advice on my personal experience. Never never fly with Air Asia because you will face the chanches of flight delay as long as three hour and my friend can lost her baggage and the customer service is bad.

Just take jetasia on the 10 of feb.. quite a comfortable trip.. clear the custom you will see a counter near the exit pt where they sell the bus ticket. if you are taking the bus, the jounary to central pattaya is roughly 45min... the only delay is the bus had to wait till all the passanger of jetasia clear before proceeding.. so no need to be the 1st few passanger to clear the custom cause still had to wait for the other before bus off
Onboard the bus there are map pasted around showing the station the bus will stopped so tale sometime to look at it so that you will not miss your station or if you can speak of thai you can talk to the bus driver where you hotel is....

Lastly the bar fine for gal in beer bar varies.. one beer bar quote 300b the other quote 400 before 10 clock, 300b after 10.
