THIERRY HENRY may be out of action for five months but he insists he is at Arsenal for life.

The superstar striker, 29, will miss the rest of the season with groin and stomach injuries.

It does not surprise him.

He said: “I felt it coming. I was ready for it to happen.

“The doc has told me I am out for four or five months.

"But this injury is not very surprising. Players are not robots. Since last autumn, I have had a back problem that even gets to my leg.

"I have had to make physical efforts to play with that problem and my body has finally said no. You can’t do anything about it.

“Last Wednesday, after the PSV game, I couldn’t drive home. A friend drove me to hospital. I couldn’t walk straight!

“After coming on, at my acceleration, I felt a violent pain.

"Then I tried to get a ball. I slipped. I tackled the ball but slipped again. All the weight of my body was then on my leg. I couldn’t get up.

“My team-mates know I don’t like to stay on the floor. They knew it was serious.

“This injury is not a relief. But at least I know I will have time to get myself ready for the new season. This will be something new for me!

“During the winter, I had a thigh injury. I was already close to breaking down.

“This injury isn’t down to my age. It’s the number of games played that causes the injury.

"Look at Ribery, Makelele, Gallas, Vieira, they are also injured. Even Ronaldinho is dead.

“Same for Deco. Or Gerrard. This is not the great and the real Gerrard.

"The players doing well now are those who played less last season. Drogba’s Chelsea were out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage then.

"Ronaldo and Scholes with Manchester United didn’t even get past the group stage.

“There is no mystery. But I am already missing football.”

Henry’s injury troubles have had some people claiming he will leave the Emirates Stadium.

Barcelona and Real Madrid were both ready to pay £50million for the Frenchman last summer but instead he signed a four-year deal to stay with the Gunners.

Henry added: “People in France and some over here are still saying I am going to leave. I am not going to leave. Never. I am staying here for life.

“I have no intention of walking out on this club, whatever the situation is. At no stage this season have I ever thought about leaving.

“I love the club. I love the fans and I am 100 per cent behind the boss.

“When I signed my new contract I said I never wanted to kick a ball for another team and nothing has changed.”
