Time: Sunday morning
Location: Living room

Crystal: “Oh really? Angel, you are willing to help me? Thank you so much Father and Angel. I can’t tell you how grateful I am. I would do anything to have a baby that belongs to Ryan. This would be perfect as we have records of Angel going for the artificial insemination. So we can just treat as if the artificial insemination is successful. No one would know. Angel would be only a surrogate mother. The baby belongs to Ryan and me. Thank you so much.”

Angel: “Crystal, we understand your torment. We are a family.”

Henry: “But…. does Ryan know your plan?”

Crystal: “I haven’t told you. I never expect Angel and Father to agree helping me, so I never brought this up to Ryan in case he gets another disappointment. I can’t bear to disappoint him anymore.”

Henry: “Would he agree to your plan then?”

Crystal: “Errmmm, I think for the sake of having his own kid, he will. He has mentioned to me before that Angel is a beautiful girl, so that shouldn’t be a problem.”

Angel blushes and gives Crystal a nudge at her last comment. “I am only doing this to help you only, please remember.”

Crystal: “Of course, of course, Angel. I am forever grateful to you.”

At this moment, Ryan walks down the staircase to the living room.

Ryan: “Morning. Wow everyone is up so early.”

Crystal: “Ryan, come. We have something to ask you.”

Ryan: “What’s so serious?”

Crystal: “Father and Angel have agreed to help us to have your own baby.”

Ryan: “Dear I thought we agreed to forget about this?”

Crystal: “No no no listen to me Ryan. I know it’s your biggest wish in life to have your own kid. You told me that when you propose to me. You told me that during our wedding night. You told me that during our honeymoon. I know how important that is to you.”

Ryan: “But Angel has tried helping us and there is nothing else we can do.”

Crystal: “Yes there is. Angel has agreed to bear your baby.”

Ryan: “We tried that, didn’t we?”

Crystal: “No listen Ryan. Angel has agreed to let you make love to her, make her pregnant and that baby will belong to us. To the others, she is just the surrogate mother. Only the four of us would know.”

Ryan: “What?”

Ryan looks at me for my reaction and I nod lightly to show my consent and support. He looks at Angel and Angel lowers her head shyly.

A dead silence follows. Ryan is looking around at us and he is deep in thought. His glance stops at Angel and breaks the silence, “I will go along with it if everyone agrees, especially Angel.”

Angel nods her head lightly to shows her approval.

Crystal: “Ok let’s do it now.”

Ryan: “Now?”

Crystal: “Yes now. The more we wait, the more awkward we will get.”
