I noticed that posted RM:S$ n vice versa exchange rates in some money changer booths in S'pore give lower rates on weekends. I.e. I do not get as much than if I exchanged money on weekdays. I think it is because the forex markets are closed on weekends. True or false?

If you have very old RM bank notes or other countries' bank notes, exchange them for S$ as soon as possible. Or exchange them in banks. I once brought out dated foreign bank notes to a local money changer to change to S$. I got a very bad rate because my foreign bank notes were no longer in circulation. You can keep a few as souveniers.

1) Market Closed, based on last rate.
2) Many people going Malaysia, driving up demand

Above 2 are likely reasons ..
Just compare Food taste/quality during normal days n festive season you will now. CNY coming, rates likely to be manipulated again. If you have lots of $$, change few weeks usage in advance. No idea if they will manipulate this Xmas/New year..

For old notes, use them asap. esp for countries that do not have powerful currency. THB, PHP, MYR, VND, INR etc..

They might appreciate value in collectors market, but by then we will either be dead or old..
