Chiang Mai review - Feb 2024

this is a quick overall review of CM during my visit for late Feb 2024. This was my first time in CM.

Weather:
no major issues, air quality is okay but not great as I do see blue skys from time to time. Nighttime temp is perfect around 20c, day time can get hot around 3pm maybe 36c but feels like dry hot not those high humidity soaking wet heat in Bangkok, in terms of weather CM at this time is much better than BKK.

traffic: also much better than BKK, grab and bolt is your best friend.

Agogo bar: all gone as far as I can tell, I was shocked.

Loi Kroh Street: nothing great, mostly older girls, maybe a few younger gems here and there, I walk down Loi Kroh street every night.

Boxing ring complex: again nothing great even on a Friday night, each bar has 2-5 girls, they are friendly, but you can't really do too much in those settings.

Fiwfans: very few selections like maybe 1/50 of the selections compares to BKK

Massages:
surprisingly, the price of massages in CM is higher than BKK. if you look at the pricing of a massage place like PinkX Station compares to Butterfly@BKK, PinkX is charging more than 500b-1000b higher. I don't understand this as the rent for sure is cheaper in CM vs BKK. However, based on the recommendation of one of the gurus here on the forum I went to Dolphin spa and I received excellent service for 2500b/60mins. The lady boss is very nice and she presents the line up for me. Girls are very friendly and they follow a set SOP with shower-Nuru-FJ. I had a great time there at Dolphin with my girl even using google translate. Girls started to report to work after lunch time and closes around midnight.

Milk club or similar: have not tried b/c I don't speak Thai and I roam solo. It felt kind of strange to go alone in those places.

Zoe in yellow bar area: went there after 9pm on a weekday and not too many people so didn't stay.

In summary:

C.M. is not the same as BKK or Pattaya, it is not even close. If you are expecting to walk down some RDL street with girl rubbing their fake tits on you trying to get you into their bar/agogo then I can tell you that you are dreaming. This place is much much more conservative than BKK.

If you come here your goal mainly should be to relax, explore the many great attractions of C.M., with a side trip to a spa like Dolphin massage. I landed in C.M. after pooning every night in BKK and it felt actually pretty good. Pooning should not be your no. 1 priority here. The girls in general are more down to earth, way less fake boobs/nose jobs and in general are friendlier and more chill than those big city girls. I will be back for sure.

That is because many Spa shops eg PinkX still practice double pricing for locals and foreigners, and much more higher if one is brought to those shops by Tuk Tuks or Songtaews. Clear menu pricing is still my priority.. No hidden charges... Guess you have enjoyed your time in CM.. Cheers!

thank you again for your insight and pointers about pooning in C.M. I have enjoyed my trip to C.M., very very different from BKK but it was enjoyable. I think I will follow the same route, aka poon hard in BKK then come to C.M. to chill for a bit.

Went to Dolphin to try. Lady boss us a nice lady. Easy to communicate via wechat. Showed a parade of girls and chose Nana. Opted for 90mins with 2 shots (HJ). 1st shot was done in Nurul. Rubbed vigorously and shot. 2nd shot was done after a massage.
