20 000 wealthy Ukrainian refugees=> 20 000/5=4 000 families. Assuming each family are a Ukrainian couple & 3 kids.

If Ix Shen earns $2 000/family, 4000X$2000=$8 million!

Unfortunately, it is true. All legal shops are closed since Mar 2020. It is also political sucide to have someone complain about geylang reopening, and have a MP address it. So it has driven the vice activities underground (less regulation on STD management) - which was what geylang was meant to prevent in the first place

you right about the political suicide, even if they intend to permit the re-open it would probably be very low key, no announcement..i don't think any gov official would want to be seen sanctioning it operation..
