agreed... leave the defending to finnan. alves can help out in defence when needed but let him fly on the wings.
gerrard can then play as attacking midfield... he didnt do too bad in the last game cos the milan defence was in sixes and sevens. just that pool didnt take their chances. if playing gerrard regularly in that position, he would deliver, as he has never disappointed before.

how come leh? is he that ugly?
he is not good looking for sure, but not that ugly lah... just that he is hunchback, especially when he is running with the ball...

me too.. firstly i do think he's no longer player of his former self...and secondly..many fans still cannot 4get how he walk out on us....3 years back
pool needs players with passion to excel for the club, now more than ever before... one can never find that in a player who wanted to move away in the first place.

i m actually hopeful for mancini to join though, cos he is at loggerheads with totti, who is virtually the emperor of rome there...

Finnan..i never doubt his quality... a quality right back..who knows how to defend, tackle, overlapped and cross... if he is an Englishman... guess it be a never nevile for the 3 lions..
please dont insult finnan. hell, if chimbonda is english, he would be 1st 11 too...

Mascherano tends to perform better in the bigger matches, perhaps he feels more is expected of him in such matches...

oh dear, owen again. i support rafa in ignoring him!!!
Remember bro that Cafu plays for Milan and they are of course solid defensively.
Owen...well...he might come back, who knows. He is one of the best finishers. I am wary not because he is money-faced or whatever (very few players these days aren't) but because he gets injured too often. Well, we shall see...

agreeable..Brazilian flair in the Pool's attack (Disclaimer...brazilian tends to under perform in EPL)

so far ..no one in Pool squad can perform that role as well as him... even in the national squad..no one come close to him...

oic..can't really recall much about him..as he is not featured that often..guess he left for Spurs in the early-mid 90s??

he was the one of the last few..i will ever imagine turning his back to Anfield..though the cause of his departure was no much publicized..sure there must be something about him that made Rafa persistently ignoring his availability..or even talking about him...

i was actually anticipating cafu to come up when i hit the submit button. nope, i dont think too much of cafu as a defender, no offence. too keen to go forward and in fact, he is greedy for goals as well.

yes, from israel. think i would say his hair is wavy. and i hope u didnt mix him up with craig johnston!!! his hair is curly!!!

haha, bros. cue samuel eto'o!!! he can run at defenders, he can make shooting chances for himself, he packs a powerful shot in both feet and he can time his runs so well that he usually powers his headers past goalies!!! if not, miroslav klose??? nearly the golden helmet winner of the 2002 world cup. oops, he got the golden boot in 2006 right? kekeke... cheers.

Yeah... This guy is really an excellent player. But i think if Mancini comes, then no need for Alves, it is one or the other. I also think Mancini will not have the price tag associated with Alves

Yeah... but i think its only one of the three, or at most 2 of 3. One as a replacement to Speedy, one a backup to Kewell (I believe he should have ONE MORE CHANCE next season). Together with Pennant, We will have an awesome winger division and allow Gerard to focus on his Attacking Midfiled role in partnership with either Momo, Alonso or Masch. Finnan and Riise focus on the RB and LB roles, needing to lend less support in the attack and we have an awesome 4-5-1 we can play that is also practically a 4-3-2-1. Wah Sai!!1

LOL, your post is as funny as it hurts. Damn the 'shortcomings' of our strike force.
Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
yes, Mancini is the guy who did the cha cha with the ball before scoring against Lyon, and he plays as winger for Roma if not wrong.....it would be interesting if he comes, but i guess not alot of report on him so far. hopefully he is cheaper then Alves.
Klose would be good choice, good header of the ball, and being at 29, he should have another 2 years or so in him. Also would love to see Crouch playing more next season and hopefully he stays, always remember his playing days in saints, can score all sorts of goals haha.

oh yah craig johnston, he is the one from south africa right? but i think both of them a bit sama sama, not very big build...

haha, bros. cue samuel eto'o!!!
actually quite impress with his running ability and he can really create space for his other team mates...he also one of those that seems to pop up at the right place and the right time..
Quote:
if not, miroslav klose???
some how feel we may have just seen the best of whatever is left of him in WC2006...he didn't really shine in tournament...

i dont want to commit to that... cos arsenal has a certain brazillian who has been doing quite well in the midfield holding role... kekeke...

well, he is considered as a complete player. think he will be commanding even if he plays in defence. not sure about his goalkeeping skills though...

actually, i cant really remember but i think u r right...

keep on ignoring owen... no point lah!!! the fans wont really take kindly to him, unlike fowler. he might have thought that pool might show sympathy to him. well, he doesnt deserve it!!! fowler will always occupy a special place in the fans' hearts, just for the love for liverpool that he wears on his sleeve. u know what he did when he scored against manure when playing for man city??? he held up his hand and showed 5 fingers, indicating the 5th european crown that his beloved liverpool had just won so dramatically. such legendary stuff will stay in my heart forever!!! damn, he has the best celebrations of them all, albeit a bit controversial...

mancini.. is he the one.who 'dance' with the ball..before scoring against Lyon...
yup yup, powerful left foot shot and damn fast to pull the trigger. an eye for goal too, not to mention his demonic speed and his crossing abilities... enuf said.
