Yes and No to your quote. Some exchangers are operating by the same boss. But whatever rates they display, u ned to ask around.
I saw one guy infront of me buying SGD$1K to MYR$. Counter staff selling him MYR$2.48 to SGD$1.00 as at yesterday around 1.45pm inside City Square. KNN. Took out my currency exchange app to get an update(after minus a few cts) and I knew this chap was buying high already.
Couldn't bother to chk at d same counter anymore, I went straight to my usual xchanger opposite Merlin Tower, located just beside this 'back lane fish head curry' I called it. Not d famous Golden Dragon hor. It's situated along the back lane. Trust me, so far they hv been giving good rates to me. Is it becos they recognized I'm regular already? I'm not sure.
What rates I got? MYR$2.51 to SGD$1.00. Yee-haw!

Sometimes I think the moneychanger see people wan. I was at Peoples Park standing nearby to the moneychanger (facing main road) while waiting for my friend who is inside UOB bank and observe that he quote different rates to different people.
