Have about 20+ pairs... doesn't seem like a lot. I think it's discontinued. That product page I used to see has disappeared for that series. I have another 5 more pairs of that Gunze Mirica on the way.

I was wondering if I had used the wrong washing solution for my pantyhose. I have been using washing powder, handwashing in cool tap water and noticed the washout water is beigey (same as the pantyhose color) coloured.

It's a Propeds Elegant All Sheers Support Pantyhose in Beige. I noticed the color seemed to have gone a few shades paler under normal daylight after putting them on. That was when I suspected a color bled due to an overpowering washing solution used.

Could I have used too strong a washing solution? If so, will a regular soap bar be gentle enough on cleaning power, without stripping the dye off the pantyhose?

Prior to 1st wear, the pantyhose is rinsed in plain tap water, squeezed off excess water and froze overnight; and rinsed to accelerate thawing, hung dried before wearing. I read that the hose should should be left to thaw and dry before wearing, so I wasn't sure if rinshing to accelerate thawing was a good idea.

Should I "fix" the color by soaking them in warm salt water before the freezing phase?

i think the washing powder could be too strong... it shouldn't strip the dye. try your regular bar soap or even, your shower gel if that works for you. I use dettol shower gel to wash.

Thanks bro. Thought the regular washing powder might be too strong indeed. I'll try with those hotel shampoo and the sort as they're much gentler. Have you guys used the freeze method to strengthen your hose yarn(wherever possible)?

I see quite a lot of Chinese branded hose floating around in various shops in Singapore, have anyone tried those yet, and what might your thoughts be for its quality? They're not exactly cheap either, and comes in fancy packaging.

Quick hose report:

Nice rainy day to be out in hose. The cloudy and darker skies makes the hose harder to see, and it gives some warmth in air conditioned places.

For today I've put on the gunze mirica in suntan brown. It's one of my favourite sheer to waist Japanese pantyhose. Although after about 10 wearing it's not as tight on the legs as before.

Walked out to collect my pantyhose package that has just arrived. Walked through a busy mall, but don't think anyone's noticing.

Then went to a library to chill, and sat in a corner facing the escalator. The Matt texture of the hose makes it less noticeable.

Walked my usual way home, waiting at the traffic junction for the lights to change, and people were just walking past as usual.

Laundry update:

Changed from regular, overpowering washing powder to hotel shampoo, towel-wrapped and left to dry under fan without hanging. It still washes clean and is pretty mild.

Yeah i think that's better. I usually after hand washing I leave it sitting for a few minutes for the soap to do its work before gently rinsing away and squeezing dry (not wring dry).

On the other hand, have you guys experienc waistband getting loos due to overstretching, ie elastic strands can be seen sticking out?

not really for my case. more like runs developing even before the waistband goes.

Right, maybe the waistbannd construction isnt that good compared to Funfit seamless. Latter has an awesome comfort waistband.
