In the first incident, at 9.50pm Monday night, a 29-year-old Chinese national died after she was hit by a car.

Hoo got the car's license-plate number, which led police to the suspect, who was believed to have been drunk.

Breathalyser tests showed that the hit-and-run driver had a reading that exceeded the legal limit.

Huh?? The whole purpose of the reputation system is to add points to posts that you find useful or agree with and deduct points from posts that you feel are a waste of bandwidth or that you disagree with.

That's what I introduced the system for in the first place. Deducting points is no more "cowardly" than adding points is "bravery".

When you add or subtract points, a dialogue box pops up with the message.. "thank you for giving your opinion regarding this post". Opinions are supposed to be appreciated either way... positive or negative makes no difference.

I've lost a total of 11 points in this thread and I'm not kicking up a fuss. Those who deduct my points have every right to do so if they disagree with me.
