What I can only say is fortune only favours the brave...no better time to be in land of smile given the fact the tourism is only less than half of the occupancy rate gafter walking the ground...explore new grounds and into the local joints at local prices especially with no rich tiong spoiling the market...

If ur job allows u to work anywhere like what the ang mao digital nomads does...spend longer time here to stretch your dollars and make all the pre admin hassle worth the effort.

On a side note, local Thai insurance coy has stopped coverage on asymptomatic cases for foreign tourists with effect from today due to heavy loses in claims from recent surge in cases...so I guess many would have missed the boat with lesser travel risk as compared to the 1st version of TAG launched last year..

10 day is the min quarantine period as mandated by thai govt. Diff hospitals may apply diff quarantine periods and depending on your condition. usually its 10-14 days.

I cannot afford 14 days leave assuming the worst scenario. I dare not take this risk so no choice for me, have to wait till quarantine period reduced to 5 to 7 days. In SIN it is 4 days.

Much as I want to go and not afraid of getting Omicron or whatever Covid 19 but more concern of having to apply additional days leave last minute in event I am being tested positive and need quarantine. It will wipe out more then half of my annual leave entitlement.

My leave is my limiting factor for traveling and not other as I cannot WFH and must be onsite. No choice as I cannot afford to have 14 days of leave go wasted. If I can work from anywhere, I will surely go since no need to extend leave but just waste the nos of days applied.

The bold statement is a statistical facts. If insurance company withdraw coverage for quarantine, I do not discount the probability of contacting Covid. It helps me to decide Go or No Go in current situation.

There are insurances "compensate" u 14 days quarantine. Does this also make u think twice going to Thailand??

yes better dont go for your case. Everyone has different circumstances. Some are lucky, like has 60 day leave, company allows them to work in quarantine, etc. Others not so.
Go only if you can afford. Always assume that you will get infected when travelling these days. If you cant afford payment for medical & time for quarantine, just dont go.

With today annoucement, if you going to Bangkok for 4 days trip only need do total 2 PCR tests and 2 ART tests in total. When back in Singapore just need do ART test only. Make it so much easier now.

No worries just sharing info on travel but u can always still get SG insurance that covered QO allowances. Alliance insurance for those SQ flights should get a pretty decent coverage with flexibility in flight change if u need to revise any dates.

I guess we have gone a little off topic as this thread should be sharing good lobang in bkk

have Fit-to-fly cert for extra fees. Not sure if we need that to come back?

Anyone tried can share will be great and which place to do the pre-ART test.

Try medconsult. 500 BAHT. No need for fit to fly cert. Swabbing to getting printed result within 5min. Recommend to book and fill form before going, payment only made after registration in person.
There are cheaper ones like 300-350 BAHT. I do not know where is it yet

Thailand Test & Go update: No more Day 5 pre-paid hotel or PCR test.

From the start of March, the requirement for the 2nd pre-paid PCR test on Day 5 after your arrival in Thailand will be dropped.
But it will instead be replaced with a rapid antigen test you can take yourself. In addition, the required insurance will be reduced from $50,000 to $20,000.

The requirement for a second PCR test was put into place due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant in Thailand on February 1.
But the additional test, at the traveller’s expense, as well as the mandatory stay at a certified SHA+ hotel while waiting for results,
discouraged many potential travellers from planning a trip to Thailand.
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration approved the revision of the test requirements today.

Hotel reservations will only be required for the 1st day as travellers wait for the results of their PCR test.
Travellers won’t need to book for a second hotel night on the 5th day after their arrival.
So, it’s back to the same requirements when Test & Go was originally launched back on November 1 last year.
The Test & Go program is one of three re-entry programs available for people wanting, or needing, to travel to Thailand at this time.
The other two options are the Sandbox and an Alternative Quarantine program for unvaccinated travellers.

For land travellers, the borders at Nong Kai, Udon Thani and Songkhla will be opened to enter by land. This will also occur from the start of March.

In other news, the provincial colour zoning will remain the same and schools will now be allowed to operate on-site classes.
