Best way is by flight if you dtang yer yer...
1) To Koh Samui via Bangkok Airways or TG then ferry.
2) To Surat Thani by Air Asia, 1-2 Go or TG then ferry.
Check airlines if have joint plane/ferry ticket. Last time Air Asia had.

Cheapest is by bus...
1) Go to Southern Bus Station (Sai Tai) at Thonburi to Surat Thani then ferry.

By rail
1) Go to Hualampong and catch a train to Surat Thani. SRT has joint rail-ferry ticket so save you the hassle to search and buy ferry ticket when u arrive at Surat Thani.
