After being cooped up at home for the last 5 days & not for eating moon cakes...finally make some time and courage to visit one of these 黑舞厅 today。The one I visited at about 2 pm was 美美大舞厅which is across the road from 友通数码港干将路/阊胥路junction. Entrance fees is RMB 7.00 and they give you a reuseable paper cup which you can put in some suspiciously looking tea leaves and help yourself to the hotwater in side for drink.

Threw away the paper cup once I went in and bought a can of 王老吉for RMB 8.00.

When I first entered..holy shit, the place is in pitch darkness and playing some chinese songs that was probably hot during my grandfather's time (mind you I am in my 40s liao).

Blur Blur moved slowly in the darkness to an area with seats and sat down. After a song, the lights came on and whoa, there was quite a lot of people & mm. Guys - I think all local 50% Ah Peks, 30% 外地民工 20% youngster (some even in suits).

Gals: 40% Aunties & Ah So with heavy makeups and revealing clothes (aged 40 to 50); 40% aged 30 to 40 - spotted a few lau swee, 20% (20s but not great on looks - think those can't make it at KTV ones)

Sat for a few songs just to get a feel of things and find it an incredible experience. When the 黑舞曲is played, the whole dance area becomes pitch dark..so you can guess what hanky panky thing goes on.

After receccing one hour, saw a tall probaly early 30s girl, dress sense quite nice and ask her one of the 黑舞曲。Since first time, did not do much roaming, just hug tight tight and slow dance. Exchange a few words and song ended liao. Pay 20 RMB and left.

I think with more time and if you go often enough to be a regular, probably a good place to pick up a good FL for a reason price.

Plan to go back soon and explore some other joints --I heard this is a Suzhou specialty!

you would need proxy to surf to sites that are block by the chinese government. try vtunnel.com

I am in Suzou now for the two weeks, staying on service apartment near Crowne Plaze.
Any recommendation where to find actions nearby? if you have any contact number for take out, would be much appreciated too.

I heard from a friend stationed here a year ago that you can find action on Crowne's bar, but pretty quite last ight.

Yes, bro. In Shuzhou here, there are alot of happening.
Those contributed by bros if you back track the history,
all those place are true. I heard that Oct-20 onwards, all
activities will be in line. Was slow down due to Shanghai
