Quite surprised no one mentioned about yesterday's club friendly vs Shamrock Rovers in Dublin.. Liverpool won 4-0.

The starting XI included the likes of Brad Jones, Martin Kelly, Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and Iago Aspas. Fabio Borini and Jordan Ibe came back from their loans respectively and played from the start.

Other senior players like Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel and Philippe Coutinho travelled to Dublin but were not included in the playing squad.

Jordan Ibe played well, full of energy and running to use his pace to beat the defenders, but wasted many chances to score.

Really hope he can stay in Liverpool's squad for next season to get more first team games, just like how Raheem Sterling did

Saw Ibe play once this season n was quite impressed. Pretty skillful n speedy. Too bad we didn't hv a chance to see him end of season.

Martin Kelly is anthr young player who used to impress me a lot but he was always hampered by injuries. What a shame if he's asked to go when he's only 24. Hope he's given anthr season to prove himself.

However, I'm not sure if Dani Parejo could be the maestro for Liverpool's midfield.

same sentiments here. Few players who hv excelled in the top European leagues do well in EPL. there are, but seems like there are more misses than hits. let's see ... Kezman, Cheyrou, Forlan, Kleberson, Acquilani, Shevchenko, Lamela, Babel, Diouf.

some who hv done well couldnt take the toils of EPL n ended up in the treatment room for lengthy periods. like Arteta, Hazard, Aguero, Michu.

it'll be an immense challenge for BR to sign the right players at the right budget n at the same time get rid of some dead wood. altho Pool hv a 'big budget' to the tune of 60m (reportedly) to spend, we still do not have the luxury to spend like a running tap like ManC and Chelsea.

think Lallana n Shaw/Fonte/Cole would be good to start off with. Secure them 1st, we still hv a decent budget to splurge on n take our pick on the other players during World Cup. now that Pool plays in ECL next season, we are in a better proposition to attract star players.

Man City may have the money but they cannot spend freely for the next 2 seasons. UEFA has slapped a 60m "fine" on them but they can recoup 40m of it if they can keep to the FFP guidelines for the next 2 seasons.

Lallana should be coming to Liverpool as long as BR is willing to pay the asking price.
Shaw has indicated his preference is Man Utd.
Cole is too expensive for Liverpool unless he agrees to a paycut.
BR should make a play for Lallanan's teammate Lovren who has hinted he wants to play for Liverpool.... LFC can do with a versatile tried & tested quality CB/LB/RB/DM
