Economists anticipate that this week the US central bank going to raise interest rate again by 0.75% to control inflation in their country.

This in turn will strengthened the US dollar and exchange rate of all other currencies are expected to fall.

The ringgit will be the worst hit because of two main reasons:

1) Bolehland manage monetary policy through interest rate and it could not afford keep raising its interest rate, therefore end up causing the currency to devalue. Financial analyst predicted it could fall to RM3.45 in worst situation.

2) Bolehland is an oil exporting country which depends heavily on oil export for revenue. The recent decline in oil prices has reduced the revenue and caused the ringgit to depreciate.

Whereas for the indonesian rupiah may devalue too but not as much as the ringgit, because last week bank indonesia has raise interest rate by 0.5% to support the rupiah.

Worst scenario is that rupiah may drop by few hundred rupiah per sing dollar.

On the other hand, spore central bank uses exchange rate as its main policy tool to counter imported inflation unlike bolehland.

Price of everything every year also increase, with or without inflation. I remember last time you say before, once upon a time booking in Batam only 250k - 300k or so. Look at today's pricing now...hehehe...compare with 1.4 to 1.8 juta. My salary + market inflation also never increase 4 to 6 times.

What i am trying to say is the interest i earned next year will be use to at least subsidize the amount of spending which i will be doing in Batam, & even more so when Batam increased its price.

Next year is just 2 months or so away. Very fast can collect interest (better than put inside ordinary saving account in Singapore, right?).

Therefore every other month through out the year 2023, can collect interest month by month (to spend in Batam).

Nevertheless, i learned that during 11/11, the "S$2 off S$25 spend voucher" can be used. Therefore after taking out 1000 coins which is equivalent of S$10, amount is S$29.00 nett.

Just have to keep trying, & i hope credit card voucher can use as citi-bank credit card giving S$200 voucher (just applied) & UOB giving S$100. If it can be use, ferry ticket can go as low as S$11 for 1 way (S$41 - S$10 - S$20 credit card voucher = S$11).

Just sharing.

PS: 11/11, platform can use up to 2000 coins = S$20, hence making a S$41 digital one-way ferry voucher becoming S$21 (hasn't include other vouchers from credit card nor its platform yet). Just mix & match to one's preference.

Those candles, they can burn as long as 1 to 2 years.

My mum ask the temples with human height candle before & temple caretaker says they blew off the fire on the candle every night when they close for fire safety reason/s. Meaning those candle suppose to be able to burn for 1 year but due to being blown off during night time, can last even longer.

If u book thru sindo online and have the eboarding pass for both way. Pls go the to counter at harbour front to get the original boarding pass as the officer don't recongise the ebooking pass thus the wait to explain.

Most hotel and cafe allow online taxi except for airport and ferry terminal( harbour bay allow read somewhere here)

Selat Panjang, hv a lot of Chinese temples like batam Balai. But one unique thing is... most temples here would hv this giant candle.
When I was doing my Market walk.(Is my habit...every town I go I must go market to mingle with the locals) I saw some workers was unloading some giant candles and incense (undecorated). then I learn that this is the factory that customise and supplying all temples in this region. Unfortunately due to time factors I hv no chance to see how they decorate it. May be I will return in December for my Makao-Hei feast....
