Speaking of Coffee Town, Coffee:Nowhere at City Central Hotel is closed yesterday. Wanted to go there to have a drink and do some work on my laptop, but saw the shutters down instead.

No choice. Can't help it. Most of my solo troops are more impromptu than preplanned. Only those that I go with friends are properly planned so that I get to enjoy 110%. Anyone up for HCMC in October or Bkk in January.

I apologize if this subject is not new.

Anybody knows what is exactly the difference between Ralph Lauren Polo and simple Polo?
If I ask sales girls of RL Polo, they can just tell me "not original understand?". But what is the relationship between the two brands? Same factory, two brands for two markets?
Or Polo is just an imitation? I don't think so, because also in Indonesia brands are protected, and Polo uses the same logo and name, just omits RL.
So what?
The price of Polo is much cheaper, but the quality at first glance does not seem lower. I have bought a Polo years ago, and more or less it did not age more than the other.

I note various replies on TA, partially contradicting too.
In particular, the material is the same or not? If not, besides being "Polo" legal in Indonesia, we have a good reason to pay the premium price for Polo by Ralph Lauren.

However, I noticed that my old Polo by Ralph Lauren shirts lost some of the color after few years of (delicate, careful) washing. The color is not so vivid and brilliant as when they were new. This color loss never happened on my other LACOSTE shirts, to name another premium quality brand, which year after year keep their original vivid color.

Therefore, considered the big difference of price between a Polo by Ralph Lauren shirt bought, say, in USA or Europe (price above 100 USD!) and a Polo by Ralph Lauren shirt bought in Batam (price around 40 USD), I suspected that an original Polo by Ralph Lauren manufactured in Indonesia and sold in Batam might be not exactly the same as one bought in New York. Big mistery for me.

Well.....just to chip in.......being a cheapo guy.....i only buy cheapo local indo t shirts n polo....sure they fade after some time....but they are cheap.

I dont trust Polo brands in batam claiming to be authentic. They are cheap (if compare against US or UK) for a reason.
Btw, I went to the Factory Outlet shop at BCS area before......looks more like tourist trap to me.

No offence....just my frank opinion.

On another note, I just arrived back after an impromptu trip to the lovely island.
This is the first time I went on weekday.....Mon n Tues.....n I probably understand why Bro Nono went on Wed usually.
Anyway, lotsa of info n opinion to share....i took alot of pics.
