That's why i purposely stayed up to catch this game! Agger was solid !if they have played Kuyt earlier instead of the Botak Robbin, the orange would have scored! Why Huntaller don't join us? He is good wor! Let's see what our previous striker can do tonite!

I'm a Italy supporter since the early 80s till now even tough they are not the powerhouse as they used to be..same goes for my Liverpool.

Loyalty stands..even the 1st 11 is Liverpool players playing for Spain..

Just hope that my hatred player balotelli who starts tonight don't go crazy

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

If only Balotelli behaves himself...
Despite his bad moments, he had Ramos in his back pocket. Giovinco was more useless.

As an Italy fan, I am happy with the performance, should have won though.

Maggio, Marchisio and De Rossi were immense!

Read the article, watch the video. Who knows? For a young liverpool player to be compared to Fowler, that's exciting.

Hope BR has a 'develop the youth' policy.... if Suso can put on some body mass, I hope to see him in action too.. some of his passes are Xabi-que...

nice article. but im quite disappointed with the quality of our youngsters in recent years ... rembr how le tellac n pongolle were highly touted ... neil mellor was good for only a few matches (remembered his stunner agt Gunners) .. pachecho, spearing, kelly, flanagan are decent but not outstanding.

love d good old days in d Fowler era which besides him, we had stars like Owen, McManamman, redknapp fr our academy who could all step into any of the top teams in EPL.

It would be great to see home grown talent. Here in Singapore, we don't get as much news about up and coming talent from the Academy, which is why I highlighted the article. Hope he does well.

Bro, those were in the early days of the EPL. I remember Fowler missing sitters and tripping on the ball as he was dribbling. Doubt youngsters these days will be given as much time to develop.

I was watching a recent documentary that details the 20th anniversary of the EPL. The EPL was partly set up to reverse the talent drain in the league. This is partly due to the 5 year ban from 1986-1990 for British clubs in European competitions due to the Heysel tragedy. Back then, top players like Rush, Gazza, David Platt were playing overseas. The top talent of Holland, Italy, Germany seldom play in the First Division. British players were given more time to develop.

With the subsequent success of the EPL, European talent soon flooded the EPL and British talent in the top clubs aren't given as much time to develop. Actually, I think Mellor could have made it if we had given him more playing time. Mellor can't be worse than Voronin right? His scoring record in the Reserves was impressive. Both Danny Murphy and Stephen Warnock continue to feature regularly in the EPL. I thought Murphy was good. After he left, it's like we had a gap in the right midfielder slot which we tried to solve with several players like Nunez, Gonzales, Kewell and finally chose a striker (Kuyt) to fill in the gap. How come we will sell Murphy in the first place? Murphy was combining well with Cisse in pre-season before Murphy was sold.

so far man city players are scoring...Lescott for England and Nasri for France..Joe Hart also Man City played well...but the goal was partially blocked by defenders so he cannot see...

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

I think the French will win. England is too slow and static to play soak and strike. Ashley Cole is almost non-existent. The right winger for France is dangerous. Hope to see Carroll playing at some point in time. I think he will bully the French centrebacks into making a mistake.

One more thing, we are linked to Kalou of Chelsea, who is on a free transfer and Adam Johnson of Man City. It's difficult to get transfer news now on Soccernet so I surf www.newsnow.co.uk. Not bad, summarises the news for you. Read with a huge dose of salt though.
