Johnson: England need Carroll
May 10, 2012

Glen Johnson has told former Liverpool boss & newly-appointed England manager Roy Hodgson 2 take Andy Carroll 2 Euro 2012, becos John Terry is "petrified" of him.

Johnson was involved in both of Liverpool's recent clashes with Chelsea, the 1st of which saw them beaten 2-1 in the FA Cup final b4 the Reds exacted some revenge with a 4-1 win in the league.

In the cup final Carroll started on the bench, but he drastically altered Liverpool's presence in the game when arriving as a 2nd-half substitute. The England striker halved the deficit & then saw another strike controversially denied with replays unclear as 2 whether his header crossed the line.

On Tuesday, Carroll started the league encounter @ Anfield & produced an impressive display, creating the 3rd Liverpool goal 4 Daniel Agger. Terry failed 2 shackle his compatriot all night, & Johnson insists Hodgson must take the in-form striker 2 the Euros.

"I definitely think Andy has put himself in contention 4 the England squad," Johnson said. "In the last few weeks, big Andy has been fantastic. He is unplayable.

"Chelsea hv 2 big centre-halves & he has thrown them around. Andy looks like he is quicker & is working a lot harder.

"You could see John Terry was petrified @ times. Andy is a big lump but he's good on the ball & works very hard. He will scare alot of defenders. Plus u can't put a price on confidence - & his is obviously growing."

Hodgson has declared he will name his preliminary England squad on May 16. Carroll admits he hopes 2 be involved, & he paid tribute 2 Dalglish 4 standing by him in the face of much criticism tis season.

"Kenny has shown alot of faith in me," Carroll said. "I haven't had the greatest season but he has stuck by me & defended me & encouraged me alot."

Carroll grateful for Dalglish support
May 10, 2012

Andy Carroll has expressed his gratitude 2 Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish 4 his support following a difficult 1st full season on Merseyside.

Aft signing 4 Liverpool fr Newcastle for £35 million in January 2011, the expectation levels of Carroll, 23, were high, in particular aft demonstrating impressive goalscoring form 4 the Magpies.

However, the striker has struggled @ Anfield, leading 2 heavy criticism, although boss Dalglish has continued 2 back his player in spite of the doubts over his potential.

And Dalglish's ongoing support appears 2 be paying off, with Carroll impressing in recent weeks, leading 2 calls 4 him 2 be named in Roy Hodgson's England squad 4 Euro 2012.

"Kenny has shown alot of faith in me," Carroll said. "I haven't had the greatest season but he has stuck by me & defended me & encouraged me alot.

"I m confident of doing well all the time & I think it is not just the last 2 games, I think I hv played well in a few games.

"I m enjoying it & I hv been enjoying my football & training. I m just confident every time I step on the pitch & I think it has shown in the last few games. I think I just needed abit of a run.

"In training I hv been doing well & all the lads hv been enjoying it now. We hv all been sticking together & playing well. I can't wait till next season."

The new jersey looks quite plain. Like a polo T shirt more than a jersey.

3rd kit seldom wear anyway. I wonder what our away jersey looks like. Craig Bellamy is coming on 1st of June. Venue: Weston at Queensway. Read it in the papers. Weston seems to get such deals. Problem is; Weston won't be able to accomodate a lot of fans. Hopefully, this means Craig Bellamy will stay with us for another season.

Actually I prefer this design......... at least now I wun get turned away from some establishments for not adhering to the dress code (no collarless)

Also it is more suitable as casual wear than the previous jerseys.

I believe he is paying the price for the PR disaster during the Luis Suarez saga........ sad to see a loyal servant leave like that....... he worked his way up from groundskeeper to Director of Comms.

Is the establishment you are refering to a casino? Seem to recall to enter a casino, you need a collared shirt. The new jersey is red and gold. Auspicious enough for casino right? Somemore the jersey says 'warrior'. So fierce!

I bought things online from the official website before too. Is it cheaper to buy your jerseys online? Including the DHL charges, I didn't find it so cheap to buy online. Better to buy from the shops here, at least can try for size here.
