An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
According to the Singapore Police Force Facebook statement, 2 men aged 21 and 24 were caught trying to force their way into a Yishun flat. Police were called in and the suspects were arrested after a struggle at a nearby carpark while trying to break into a car.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio police division were alerted to complaints about unknown persons banging on a door of a residential unit in
Yishun on 10 January 2016. When officers arrived on the ground, their investigations led them to 2 men behaving suspiciously at a carpark.
When the men were approached, the
24 year old turned aggressive and tried to use the stun gun on the officers. The 2 suspects were taken into custody where investigations are ongoing. The two suspects are believed to have been involved in other criminal cases.
Both men will be charged in court separately on 11 an 12 January 2017.
Under the Arms and Explosive Act, Chapter 13, anyone found guilty of unlawful possession of arm without a licence may be punished with a fine not exceeding $5,000 and imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years.
