An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
when Dr Susan Lim lost her court case against the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) over its assertions that she had overcharged her patient, the sister of Queen of Brunei, Dr Lim was ordered to pay the SMC’s costs, including the legal fees of SMC’s law firm.
At the time, SMC was represented by Senior Counsel Alvin Yeo and Melanie Ho of WongPartnership LLP. Alvin Yeo is also an MP of Chua Chu Kang GRC.
While scrutinizing the legal bills of WongPartnership, Dr Lim and her husband alleged that WongPartnership was charging what amounted to $77,102 for each day Alvin Yeo and Melanie Ho were in court, in one of the bills. In another, it was $46,729 for each day in court. And, for the third bill, it was alleged that the fees of Alvin Yeo and Melanie Ho amounted to $100,000 per hour of court hearing.
Later, Dr Lim filed notices of dispute for all the bills from WongPartnership........
