Applying PR while wife is pregnant.

Hello Bros,

I have been married to my VN wife for close to 2 years now, and she is pregnant, due to give birth in September.

I have an appointment with ICA next Thursday to submit the documents to them for applying of PR. I just wanted to ask, does she need / or will it be beneficial for her to get a letter from our gynae confirming that she is pregnant and her Estimated delivery date?

I was doing my research, and if I was going to apply LTVP for her, I do need to have a letter from the gynae. However, under the guidelines for applying PR in ICA website, this letter from gynae is not stated.

Any bros advise?

Re: Applying PR while wife is pregnant.

Just give additional documents to aid the process. Don't think giving extra documents will jeopardize the chances. Besides, getting your gynae to write a letter won't cost any penny or much?

Re: Applying PR while wife is pregnant.

Based on my experience, a letter from your Gynae should add some plus points to your application. If she's taking up some part time courses, will be even better. Applying for PR is somehow similar to a job interview.. The more Paper the merrier!

Hope this helps! Good luck in your application and Hapi Fatherhood Bro!

The un-written policy of ICA is

"The more paper, the better. Don't care toilet paper or newspaper."

Re: Applying PR while wife is pregnant.

Its a common misconception that if your foreign spouse is pregnant, she sure get PR. ICA has made it clear some years back that having a kid doesn't give the foreign spouse PR. That's why there's LTSVP Plus now, for those with kids but cannot get PR.

Talking Re: Applying PR while wife is pregnant.

Bro, while it is not guarantee that the PR will be approved is yr wife is pregnant, but it will be a added points. Other factors such as housing, yr ability to generate income and past records will be a bonus point.

I got my wife PR in a month after submit the forms. give the ica officer a fuck face when they ask fr medical report during IC collection aS it must be nt more than 3 mths ago result. Guess the fucking shock face when she see my application submission was not even 1 mth old lol.

Gynea letter is a confirmed need documents when applying any passes for your bx when she is pregnant, first time round it better to have the letter from KKH or other hospitals under ICA 'trusted partner' list, in my memory ICA will issues you a standard form with some health checklists & ETD, your gynea will just need to fill up the form, stamped & signed over it.

Are you yourself a SG citizen? If you are then you should be direct with the ICA and DEMAND citizenship for your wife.... and tell them in no uncertain terms that she will bring the child back to VN and live there forever if she cannot be guaranteed a citizenship here.

SG is desperate for babies and will bend the rules to ensure that their baby citizens dun leave the country..... your wife's chances is even better if the child is a boy.

But you have to be patient as they will only process the approval AFTER the birth of the child.
